Can the S650 10R80 be tuned to skip more gears?

Ah, so pick a button any button which selects a gear that becomes the active one upon modulation of the clutch. Well yeah if the automated intuition was integrated it might work but then again prindle fixed some of the annoying inherent traits. Me, myself, and i prefer the manual method but since this is an automatic skipshift thread, yes it seems possible however the criteria for majority of operation will need to be considered.

I've owned a 2015 Doge Challenger SRT 392, and two BMW M550i (2020 & 2026), all with the ZF 8 speed auto. Absolutely wonderful transmission. If I wanted to get more sporty, I could slide the gear shift to the left which put the transmission in sport mode, keeping the gears lower longer. In addition, you could bump it forward or back to upshift or downshift. I wish Ford had done the select shift like the ZF.

1) Moving the shifter to the left, the transmission was still in Automatic with more aggressive gear mapping. Very quick and easy way to quickly get sport transmission, without having to take yours eyes off the road, push buttons and find sport mode.
2) When you did move the shifted forward or back, it functioned a lot like a manual Transmission without the clutch.

Thats exactly the same as changing to sport mode in the mustang. Its a toggle on the steering wheel. No need to take your eyes off the road either. Also the paddle shifters can be used to skip gears up or down too.

Don't want to argue, but hard to do paddle shifters when having to turn the steering wheel more than 1/2 turn when spirited driving around town. With select shift, you drive one handed on the steering wheel and one on the gear shift like a manual.

Im not trying to argue either. But based on your comments you seem pretty new to your car and I dont think you fully understand its functions yet.
As for half turns during spirited driving, thats what track mode is for. The transmission shifts up and down flawlessly based on throttle and braking inputs. There is no need for paddles or sport gear shifter.
Anyway, we are getting off topic. The subject was skipping gears not paddles vs auto stick shifting. The S650 skips gears quite well if you want it to.
