Break in period RPM?

What RPM do you guy normal keep it under for the break in period. Manual doesn't say. It just says avoid excess speed

I think it is around 1700km

I tried to stay under 4000rpm on that period
and changing speeds is better than holding the car on 1 speed in this period like I don't know to describe it but like let the car work in changing gears at different speeds instead of like in a highway and you hold at 80 for longer period of time its like you are training the ecu

We've had a few threads with break-in related questions. I'm attaching links to several I've commented within.

In general, I took a progressive approach. As engine builders do on their dynos, I increased the working RPM band on the engine very early on. I was routinely hitting 5000-6000 RPM (roughly 80% from redline) at the 100 mile, 160 km mark and have been hitting that range (and sometimes higher ) virtually every drive since. Oil analysis has proven I have a healthy engine.

The RPM noted is not hit every shift. From a few to several times over the course of one drive, in differing ways. The following threads will provide greater detail.

Keep under 4500rpm occasionally load the engine with sufficient throttle about 30-40% throttle to around 4000rpm.

Up to 500kms i just drove normally with the occasional squirt up to 4k or so, no full throttle/high load application. After that I just increased rpm and throttle gradually till 1600 kms. Same as I've done with all my new cars.
Job done.

While I was waiting on my GT to be built and delivered, I asked the break in rpm recommendation to Ford’s mustang “concierge” text line. They said 3k rpm until 1,000mi

I'm half way through breaking mine in and have kept it below 4000rpm. It uses no oil so far but 500 miles isn't much. I just vary my speed.

Sheeeeeeit. Break-in, Shmake-in. This pony gets the spurs every time I drive it. How can you not? it's so intoxicating. The first night I drove home from the dealer I was red lining in first and second gear.

There's always lots of heated debate about hard break in on bike forums.
One channel tested the theory on two new CB250 engines. They ran them in, one by the book, the other run hard, and then stripped and miked the components.
Wear on bearings etc was the same on both, as were pistons. The hard run engine had twice as much piston ring end gap, which they wrote off as not important.
Except, that extra gap meant that engine will lose compression and start using oil well before the other. Increased ring gap indicates premature wear and loss of ring tension.
Which is why I do it by the book. Sunsequent owners will thank me.
