Be aware of brake dust if you order the white FX wheels and Brembo brakes next year:

I love the Brembo brakes, but they produce a LOT of solid black brake dust that coats all of the wheels. This is what two paper towels looked like after cleaning the wheels after a 150 mile road trip today. Can’t imagine how bad this would have looked on white wheels. I think we have the perfect wheels to hide the brakes dust, but would not even think about the combination of Brembo brakes and white wheels!!

The only good thing that I can say about the upcoming FX is that the plaid leather seats are kind of nice……..past that, I got nothin’….

I don’t know how the FX package is going to be configured. You will probably be able to order it as a standard alone option, and only order the PP1 OR 2 as an added package with the Brembos. Cannot speak to how much dust the base brakes produce though.

I think that our wheels are a stand alone option listed in the wheels options. They are really pretty wheels I think…..

@GWink ..... very astute observation. The white rims would be a nightmare. The brake dust from my brakes isn't too bad - yes, like you, I clean them after any kind of a lengthy drive but white rims....nasty!

I'd consider the non-PP white wheels on a base GT if they were available outside of the FX package like the white taillights.

Ceramic coat the wheels and change out pads for ceramic or low dust option? That in combination with not driving too much should keep it all clean

@Q6543 ..... great suggestions until I got to the "not driving too much" part which has left me confused. I didn't think it was possible to spend too much time in our Mustangs? Did I miss a TSB?

It’s not just the whiteness of the FX wheels…..the design on the wheels looks to have about 40 little holes on each wheel. Our gray wheels can be cleaned in about 30 seconds each…the FX wheels look a LOT harder to clean than that…

The color is the best color I've seen on a muscle car in decades imo. I say this as a massive teal fan.

yeah, when I've been out for a good ride, I still have to wipe the front chrome ones off, can't imagine how white will look.
BUT, clean white? that might be cool with the right "other" appearance stuff.
I always thought the idea of whitewalls on a cruiser motorcycle would be ugly, until I saw some and they were actually very nice, and some weren't, all depended upon the rest of the bike, so I can assume the same here.... jmho
