We have a '24 Mustang GT Premium Convertible with the Performance Package with 12K miles on the clock. It's time to replace the original factory Pirelli tires. Looking for All-Season tire recommendations. What have you gone with and what is your experience with them? Thanks!

Tempting! But alas, the Mustang does get used throughout the year and finds itself in some northern states that are prone to some snowfall. If we went with one of those two AS options, should we stick with the factory staggered sizes or go with squared sizes? Would our factory PP rear wheels accommodate the narrower width 255-40-R19 tires? Any negatives to the narrower width?

Narrower tires will do better in snow and rain but worse in dry

Having a square setup will help you get more even wear with tire rotations

I would not put narrower tires on stock rims as you lose the lip protection and stretched tires look dumb

I'm running the Kenda Vezda KR400s right now. LOVE them. Quiet, good traction, and the ride quality is so nice.

I never had any luck with the made in meh-hee-co Continental DWS06 tires. Couldn't get them to balance out and they're just over priced.

I think I’m going to get DW06 as well for when it gets cold and a separate set of wheels with 4S for summer and just rotate them out.

Very good idea. I was blown away that the Cont DW06 have better dry traction than the pirellis and are amazing in wet. Went with a seperate set of Nitto NT555 G2/R2 for warm months. Loving it so far with both and so glad I ditched the pirellis.

Had Mich.A/S4 on our '16' EB and have them now on a '13' Porsche Boxster S.
The good:
Firm side wall providing excellent steering response, great dry and wet traction, decent snow traction.
The bad: more noise than expected and got worse with miles.
I'd like to replace the Conti grand touring tires on our new car but will probably wait a year or so to get some wear out of them. Likely to go with Conti DWS06 or Pirelli A/S 3--both rated #1 and 2 at tire rack in the UHP A/S category largely because of the noise issue.

The Conti’s are made in the USA. I’m sure the Kenda is a decent tire for the money but they cannot be compared to class leaders like Continental or Michelin.

I’m in Yorktown also and had continental DWS06 on my 2019 PP1 car and they were great. I ran a square setup using a rear PP1 wheel upfront with 275/40s and a 25mil spacer. I rotated them every 10k. I had 40k on them when I sold it and the tread was close to the wear bars. I bought my 2024 used in January and the first thing I did was replace the PZeros with BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S. The main 2 reasons were… 1. The price through Costco was great vs the Conti. 2. I knew I was going to buy a different wheel and summer tire setup in April so I figured I would give them a try.. I put 2k on the BFGs and was super impressed with them. They do ride stiffer being an XL tire compared to the Continental SL..they are a rotational tire vs the continental being an outside/inside tire if your concerned with rotating. Some say they make noise when you get miles on them but with 2k I didn’t notice.. I also have a Whipple stage 1 and no doubt the BFGs were better than the crap pzeros.. I don’t think you can go wrong with either the DWS06 or if you want to save some money the BFGs. The PS4 A/S get a lot of good reviews but don’t have any experience with them …. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'll say this once again - and I'm not paid by anyone and have zero bias: I've had Michelin ps4s and I've had continental DW06. The Michelins may allow for slightly better lateral grip on the track. However, those contis are downright impressive and are way better than the pirellis IMO, and can't be beat in wet. There is a reason that competitive racers go to conti for wet conditions. I swear by them. Everyone's driving style, conditions, and experience may be a little different, but those tires are (chef's kiss), for the money.

DWS 06 Plus, pilot sport 4 all season,
but really you should get pilot sport 4S it does not snow that much in VA and when it does drive the ram
I have Pilot Sport 4s on my 2011 M3 year round in No Cal, but run Pilot 4 All season on my S2000. Partially because it's a lift throttle serial killer if the rear breaks loose, and because AP 1 stock tires don't accept 4s. Either are amazing tires if you don't get snow. Great wet traction, even on 4s.
