I just did the pioneer upgrade. Its all connected and the speaker works. I hear the bass when i open the trunk and hear it from there. In the car no. The fromt door speakers still give 10x more bass. I test the sub by putting all sound to the back on the fader. I guess i should expedt to hear bass? Lol.
for instance when i move the fader to the middle its wayyyyyy more bass. I know the fromt speakers are right there. But they overwhelm the sub. Its supposed to be like this?
Once you install an AMP you’ll notice too much bass & not enough highs lol

Now that I have the DH in the garage I see what you guys are talking about with the sub. I feel like my S550 also suffered from this but it has been eons since I was in my 20s and had dual 10" subs in a box pumping out Bass Tunes to set off car alarms as I drove by so my ear for audio isn't what it once was.

Is there a direct swap where you don't need to cut the speaker housing with tin snips or order fancy plugs? Something that literally just hot swaps in?
even I did the cuts with metal snips. I never did anyting like that, it was really easy. If I can do it, you really can :-D .. really. And the plugs same thing. they connect right to the corresponding conectors from the speaker box. You just cut the other ends, strip and push in the easy push botton release holes in the speaker. Only tricky part was taking off the retaiing ring. I used a heat gun , not sure if it did anything to salvage anything like the ring iteslf, and a flat head screw driver. And to realize the srews go in AFTER you put the cover screen back on the speaker, not on the speaker itself Like I did.. and that you need a torx 20 screw diver fyi.

Too much bass is no treble at all ;-)
I'd replace the back speakers also. I go back and forth to likeing and not liking the sound. More toward not.
*Is this premium sound set up in the 2024 the same as in the 2023? B/c I was reading you 'shoud' go to crutchfield to see what they say about compatible components to use to upgrade. I'll do whatever it takes at this point.. When i'm in the car it's the only time I can hear tunes, unless it's in the gym on my ear buds.

I doubt my sound system mods will stop at the subwoofer ;-) but for now, I hear much more engine and road noise than stereo. And I don’t mind it.

So, I swapped the DD/Redline 10” into the dynamat wrapped enclosure.
I first tried with stock sub in the wrapped enclosure. No discernible change.

Redline sub: Meh.

Is it better? yes. Is it a LOT better? No.
I’ll Amp it and be done with the affair at some point ( SHYeah. I’ll upgrade the stereo piece by piece until I have it measurably better, who am trying to kid )

If your looking for a kidney crushing bass from the Redline your not going to get it from the stock B&O amp. I bet put 200 amps into it things should wake up. Comparing the Redline to stock it does improve. The stock sub is a pure profit maker. I'm sure all the other speakers are as well.

yeah I hear you @dusman59

See what I did there? ;-)

I figure a 300w amp is plenty for stock stereo, maybe up to about 40-45w rms but that’s really marginal. db wise I can hear the stereo windows down at 70 in track exhaust mode so I don’t need a whole lot more power. My Rap has 75w x 4 + 500x1 sub and it’s plenty loud and clear.

I’ll start scrounging now for more mods later.

I've been trying to find the REDLINE SW Series 300W 10-Inch Subwoofer EOL (D4) but it looks like they are alas, all gone?

Website says "Series discontinued", well that sucks.
Yeah, I couldn't find any on the web either. Think they had residual stock and then that went bye bye.
