I got the Pioneer sub installed last night and took a few more measurements. From a data perspective the Pioneer sub definitely it a bit louder especially in the 40-80Hz range. You can also see from the graph that the Polyfill made little difference at least in my test. I am not sure the human ear to actually notice the difference with and without the polyfill.

S650 Mustang $79 Subwoofer Upgrade (Pioneer TS-A250D4 10" Sub) - IT SOUNDS GREAT! Results

I still want to do some more testing. I guess there is an optimal amount of polyfill to add depending on the cubic volume of the box.

It was also interesting to see that it appears the Pioneer sub wasn't as loud in the 15-30Hz range

Has anyone gone a step further and started replacing some of the other speakers with better quality? I replaced the sub which has made a little difference but just curious if expanding the upgrade to other speakers was a reasonable option without adding amp etc.

I'm surprised to see the OEM unit have a higher output below 30hz or so. If I would have guessed just by listening that it would have dropped off much higher in frequency as to my ears it sounds "thumpy". Thanks for testing.

Power is nothing without control as the saying goes. The Pioneer has much more control over the cone which means far tighter musical bass rather than just a flabby booming noise. Bass has more than one note to it!

Does anyone what the factory rms for the B&O amp is?

I was casually looking around at different subs and wondering if a lower rated rms sub would sound better due to less power requirements.

Driving the Mustang the last 2 days because the daughter is borrowing my truck, the Redline definitely has more bass at lower volume. With the Pioneer, I was at 15 to hear a good thump. The Redline is thumping decent at 10. At 15 or above, I have to turn it down at stop lights/signs so I don't look too stupid. Granted, this is songs that have bass in it. Classic rock is still pretty non existent like it was intended to be.

I do it with my daughters in the car to embarrass them, I prefer to be a little low key for myself. I"m guessing a shiny blue Mustang that's got an H-pipe in sport mode driving isn't really low key.

Yeah, f-it, Rock on!!!!

Sub is out of stock on Scuma'zon

Going to a local audio shop to get a "total" refresh on the shit Ford audio system that I had to pay for 🙄

Amp, Sub, speakers, and a new "REAL alarm system" along with front and rear 24/7 dash camera system ... to record little scum bags trolling the car in public...🤣
