2024 Saleen Mustang S650 Previewed

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUSTANG!!! Since today is the Mustang's big 59 Bday (B: 4-17-64), we're helping celebrate it with a sneak peak of our upcoming 2024 Saleen Mustang (302 design render).

We plan to offer three models:
White Label with a minimum of 500hp
Yellow Label with a minimum of 750hp
Black Label that will exceed 800hp.

In addition to increased performance, all Saleens will get the latest Racecraft® suspension, improved aerodynamics and braking, along with upgraded, custom interior.

I never was a big fan of Saleen, Roush, or Shelby America Mustangs but this looks nice

That last Saleen that I liked was the 03/04 versions. My BIL had a 2003 s289 convertible and it was damn sexy.

This looks really good... but will be way overpriced.

Interesting tidbit from their press release:

"The Saleen designed tonneau cover with dual hoop, carbon fibre, style bar that debuted on the SA-40 model, will also be available for upcoming convertible models."

The SA-40 is based off the 2023 Mustang Convertible. So if the tonneau cover that they designed for a 2023 fits on a 2024 convertible as well that more or less confirms that the entire convertible hood construction is a carry over. I highly doubt that Saleen would have developed and introduced such a part for an outgoing model in its final months unless it would fit on the new model as well.

The render looks considerably better than what Ford created, even so they offer slightly different angles.

Having said that, this is a render and you can tell by the rear quarter body lines that it does not follow the stock Mustang lines. Notice how the rear quarter line drops, particularly where the rear spoiler sits. While I love how it looks, there is no way Saleen will replace panels on this car and IMO, that is where this design is light years ahead of the Ford product.

What will really be interesting is the front fascia. If Saleen sticks with their latest "Dodge Charger inspired" rendition, it could be striking if designed aggressive enough and with attractive DRL's and a shorter grill opening like the DH.

Oof this looks bad. Its like they tried to turn an S650 into an S197. It just looks bulky and lacks any sophistication. And what is that god awful wing?

nah its more like they tried to turn the S650 into their version of the S550, also that wing is the same wing they used on the S550
