Personally I'm thinking an Eco Mach-4 gets 320-340HP, but for the V8/GT version I think it could be between 400-480HP.

What do y'all think? Should it have identical HP/torque figures to the coupe or higher/lower?

A Versailles would have made more sense, but a Mk IX needs to happen.

In Ford jargon it should be called the Bronco sport4, Pinto AWD, Corsair Mach4, anything but Mustang.
But Bronco : Bronco Sport : : Mustang : Mustang Mach 4, right?

As I understand it, Bronco fans were unhappy about the "Bronco Sport" nameplate, but Ford proceeded anyway. At least the Mustang sedan apparently would be built on the existing Mustang platform. The Bronco Sport is a boxy version of the Escape.

A hybrid 2.3 is def doable for sub 40. Keep in mind the miracle maverick exists. Ford made a great hybrid starting in the low 20s. A hybrid with a shared platform in the high 30s seems acheivable.
Yup. This. A zero-options 300A is MSRP is $46.5k + $2k destination. A zero-options 100A Eco is $32.6k + destination. A zero-options, RWD, short range, base model Mach-E is $37.5k + $2k dest.

The only way a "Mustang Mach-4" could come in under $40k is if it's a 2.3 or it's not even an S650 chassis at all. The cheapest possible V8 Mustang is 20% over their advertised min. Near as I can tell, the cheapest way to get a Coyote V8 today is a base model F-150, up-optioned to the Coyote for about $43k after destination.

Apparently it was a hybrid 5.0. So if of the next gen mustang coupe and sedan are hybrid versions of the current powertrains, my guess is 400-450 hp from a 2.3 hybrid, and 550-600 hp from a 5.0 hybrid.

Maybe I should flip the whole Dark Horse and screens argument on some of you ........

So getting rid of Shelby and other names and getting rid of Mustang dash for screens = your a boomer if you dont like it ....Ford is marketing to a new generation - everyone who remembers the name Shelby is 110 years old and cant drive anymore so its time for the Mustang to move on to a new target market

But add 2 doors and OH NO ITS RUINED

Maybe Ford is marketing to a new generation and if you think the Mustang should only have 2 doors then your a boomer? New market blah blah blah

That would be interesting to see, especially if the 2.3 starts under 40K. Much as I want a 5.0, I can't see it starting under 50-55K, let alone afford it new.

Of course they have to make and sell it first before I can even consider getting one.

There was a practical reason for Ford to drop the Shelby branding. Ford had to pay substantial fees to the Shelby family every time they put a Shelby badge on a car. Carroll Shelby is dead, and even before he died, it had been a lot of years since he actually contributed anything to the engineering of any Ford product.

Lots of people with their names on cars are dead now.
