Dealers saw a rendering of a long-rumored four-door coupe, which two of the sources said was called the Mach 4. Farley also showed a photo of an off-road Baja model, lifted with special tires, that he described as embodying "rugged" performance, according to the four attendees.

Other models included an EcoBoost variant modified by RTR, a company owned by off-road racer Vaughn Gittin Jr., that would start around $40,000. Dealers also saw a high-performance manual-transmission V-8 convertible, akin to the former Shelby GT350 or GT500, but the car, notably, had no Shelby badging.

Why would you need an off-road baja mustang when you sell a Bronco? Or a Mach 4 when you sell(or try at least) a Mach E 4 Door Mustang and sedans are dead. Double facepalm!

Watering down the nameplate. They cancelled the Falcon in Australia for the Mustang, killed off sedans and things because of sales, then try to push the Mustang name on those things.

Not really the same thing.

They already did it like Porsche with a Bronco, Falcon, Raptor and GT. Porsche doesn’t make a 911 4 door, EV Crossover and so on because it’s a nameplate with a certain ethos. They make a Panemara, Taycan, Macan, and Cayenne that embody some of the spirit but are for their given purpose. lol

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
just asked my sales manager about this. this meeting in vegas was over a week ago and Ford had collected everyone's phones, so you will never see pictures of the event. some things revealed: Mustang Mach 4 is real and a real-life prototype was displayed, described as a Porsche Panamera-like vehicle with 4 doors and a higher ride height. it also has no door handles and is push button open only like the Mach-E. the Transit Connect is coming back, built on the Maverick chassis and can be gotten with the 2.5L Hybrid. there is also a new trim of the Bronco coming out, apparently looks a lot like the heritage but with a blue roof. the Mach 4 is real, and it is coming

I guess watering down the nameplate some more doesn’t really matter at this point. Lol.
The Mustang has always been a parts-bin car built for the masses. Ecoboosts and Dark Horses run down the same line. The Mach 4 being announced for FRAP would be a good thing for people who want classic Mustangs to keep existing.

Thanks for the info, I suspected this was going to get the Bronco engine options (2.5L hybrid for most trims, 2.3L Ecoboost option for the "sporty"). Curious how the Coyote trims will play out, will they be like the Dark Horse and limited allocation?

@BoostRabbitGT looks like you're getting your car.

Do any of you suppose, akin to the way the GTD leaked 2 days before the reveal, that this sudden wave of information might have something to do with the event tomorrow?

I get that but you don’t have to strap the Mustang name on to every performance variant car to help boost sales. That’s the point I was getting at.
