Sorry, to clarify, 400A and 401A have the same power seats other than trim color.
Passenger seats only get height adjustment on the 400A and 401A, they don't on the 300A and 301A. The biggest jump is going to the "Premium" (400A) over the 300A/301A because it adds the power-adjustment for the...
The 401A has additional two-tone trim on the sides of the bolsters and seat.
The biggest jump is from the 300A / 301A, as on base-models the passenger seats lack height adjustment.
I agree.
My only question is if we'll get a hybrid V8 (like the e-Ray) in the future. Ford already has smaller hybrid setups (Maverick, Police Interceptor Vehicle, Escape) that preview that potential, and it would let them build a monster V8 that flew threw emissions, even in the 2030s.
That's gorgeous! I did the Grabber Blue paint with the Emberglo interior (200A) on my Ecoboost Convertible order, along with MagneRide (plus the required 2.3L Performance Package).
The only time I wouldn't order the High Premium package is if you want the Emberglo interior (not available in combination). You can still get the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package if you want the adaptive cruise control and the B&O sound system with Emberglo.
For $4520 extra, you get:
19" wheels with Pirelli tires
Leather-trim, climate-controlled seats
Heated steering wheel
Premium interior trim with aluminum pedals
Unified dual-screen dash
I personally think that's worth it.
The Ecoboost puts in work in the Police Interceptor Vehicle. I'm curious if Ford will offer something like the E-Ray powerplant, a hybrid with a V8, in the future.
The 2024 Ecoboost is also a new engine with internal exhaust gas recirculation and a twin-scroll turbocharger adding more potential points-of-failure. That said, I ordered one! I have an S550 Ecoboost with 44k miles, no issues, and the S650 is a new car with a warranty.
Good news! You don't have to worry about any of that until the car is built. The dealer didn't ask me for a penny to place my order with Ford. Bad news, you won't be able to finalize the financial details for a few months.
Agreed.
My suggestion would be another GT with an automatic, magneride and active valve exhaust. That'll wind up being a GT Premium with Performance Package as that's required to option Magneride.
Yup. On all trims of the Ecoboost and GT, choosing the Nite Pony Package swaps the chrome to the black bezels inside the headlight assembly. Only the GT can get the Nite Pony with the Performance Package though, for the Ecoboost it's one-or-the-other.
Agreed. The price tag its irrelevant, it's your car, seeing it wrecked always hurt. My motorcycle was quite literally $10k, and even though its been a few years, I still am not ready to rebuild it or get rid of it because of the emotions.
I also agree with your economic assessment. Two years...
Ecoboost only comes with 10-speed automatic. GT and Dark Horse come with their respective 6-speed manuals base, or can option the 10-speed automatic for $1595.
All other things being equal, your final gear ratio and your tires have a big impact on your 0-60 mph times. The 2.3L Ecoboost shaves 0.5 seconds off its 0-60 mph time just by going to the 3.55 Torsen and wider Summer tires (performance package). The benefit for wide, sticky tires on the Coyote...
Anything other than black, white, silver or gray now comes with a paint charge ranging from $295 for Atlas Blue to $995 for the Yellow Splash Metallic.
For daily driving, that's really what it comes down to: do you want the sound of a V8? My love is for motorcycles and top-down driving. I want the sound of wind.
I bought my first Mustang (used) without the performance options. Little over three years later and I'm ordering a new one with everything I wish I had on my current pony (convertible, performance package, magneride, premium trim). Would definitely recommend at least some options to my past...
