  1. Another recall? 26E04 - Powertrain Control Module Software Update

But this recall doesn’t appear to be OTA. So confused on this one. I wonder if that customer can look at the app (or screen) and see what update that was.
  2. Another recall? 26E04 - Powertrain Control Module Software Update

Hmm, mine is a software update. Wonder why they can’t do it over the air. For now, not bringing it in. Low trust in dealership services. I still have the water intrusion BCM module that they’ll end up doing as well, which I don’t want done.
  3. Tuning base GT?!?

I was replying to the OP from Colorado. I was asking if they don’t have 93 because at elevation it’s not needed. At least here in Phoenix I can make it from a 91/100 mix at the pump. E85 isn’t limited to at the pump. It can be had from several vendors by the can or drum for around $20 a gallon...
  4. Tuning base GT?!?

Do you know if you don’t have 93 because of your gas sources or because of elevation? IIRC, lower octane at elevation because of less air/O2. Also, do you have true e85? Here in the Phoenix area we don’t have 93 because of gas sources “CAN” (California, Arizona, Nevada) gas (at least near me)...
  5. Anyone know what this part is/does?

I’m trying to figure out why the black top cap was popped up and spinning on my son’s S550. No “P” codes, no performance problems, nothing amiss. So it’s more of a detailed question about the part itself, which is relatively cheap and easy to replace now that I/we know what it is.
  6. Anyone know what this part is/does?

Found it thanks to Levittown Ford online parts catalog. Back to why I want to know what it is/does, my son’s black cap was popped up. The black cap does seem to spin like a volume control knob. https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-engine-intake-manifold-runner-solenoid-jl3z9j559a
  7. Anyone know what this part is/does?

In the back of the upper intake near the firewall. That back bulb is small.
  8. Anyone know what this part is/does?

It’s on the back of my S650 GT and on my son’s S550 GT as well. Both are 6 speed manuals (Getrag) in case that matters. I’m asking because the black cap was popped up on my son’s. He’s since pushed it back down.
  9. Do you enjoy investing money?

Yes, I enjoy investing in real money not fiat currency. And helping others in and out of retirement accounts.
  10. New Ford Full Synthetic API SQ Oil is out.

If this is your first oil change, it's without a doubt semi-synth. Possibly with a mysterious additive to keep the typewrite/BBQ tick at bay. So look out for that upon start up. Also, if you plan on doing it yourself, there's a not so fun belly pan you may have to remove (unless they finally...
  11. New Ford Full Synthetic API SQ Oil is out.

Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (PUP), which are different? Assuming PUP, the old "SP" stuff was GTL (made from natural gas), the new "SQ" doesn't state it specifically, so it could be a different animal all together. I use PUP in our 0w-20 vehicles (as Mopar Oil is hard to find)...
  12. New Ford Full Synthetic API SQ Oil is out.

This is the part I’m questioning. Is it the vehicle or the chemistry that’s compatible. I read it that if a vehicle calls for SP, it can take SQ as well. Not that the two specs can be mixed in large quantities. My other vehicles take 0w-20. For those applications I’m using PUP. The new SQ has...
  13. New Ford Full Synthetic API SQ Oil is out.

Bought a couple of cases today and am wondering if the oil is compatible with SP. I’m not wondering if it is compatible in the engine, but can leftover SP oil be mixed in with SQ as I have a couple of quarts left over.
  14. Haven’t had an OTA update in a long while

Apparently I got that that one as well about 9 days ago. Never got an alert though.
  15. Deepest sounding axle back

Same, Roush axle back with no H/X yet, but am thinking about it (specifically Roush H).
  16. Wrong VIN or Wrong Order

    Wow, name that car Serendipity.
  17. Auto Stop Not Working Anymore

Same, my late 2023 build doesn’t have it either. Therefore, I had to pay gas guzzler tax. This “feature” was added January 2024. Our older cars are considered “Job 1” builds.
  18. CEO Jim Farley: They'll have to rip the Mustang's stick shift 'out of our cold, dead hands'

So how about that Lucid Sapphire or Tesla Plaid? Maybe, just maybe, some people actually like a third pedal and don't care about being the fastest or quickest around. And maybe, some people like the old school visceral experience without having a subwoofer make exhaust sounds.
  19. CEO Jim Farley: They'll have to rip the Mustang's stick shift 'out of our cold, dead hands'

Well I have a MT82 with 3:55 and maybe I'm an old man but this car is pretty far from boring especially in Sport Mode with the windows open and the sound of the Roush axle backs. My 1974 Mustang II with 4 cylinder and 4 speed, was closer to what I'd call boring. I'm thankful that I have this...
