Yeah, it's a cool $100k car. That price is out of the Mustang's league.
Someone else on the forum put it best - for the first two years of the S550 GT500's existence, dealers were marking up the cars to the point they costed about this much. Even now, used examples aren't far off this number.

Ford has long since realized someone is going to pay that number, and they're trying to cash out on it. I don't necessarily agree with the price, but if someone threw you a bag full of money, would you reject it?

Best case scenario, nobody buys, a la 2024/5 Dark Horse, Ford and dealerships take note, and it becomes available under AZXD or discounts start appearing.

Not justifying the price, but for perspective on the value for the money (and fun) I did a full out build on the SC vs a reasonable build on a Carrera T. Almost 800HP auto, track ready vs rear engine, manual <400HP. Roughly the same price.
I cross shopped the 911 before I bought mine. Loved it, but loved the raw Mustang more. (Price helped too ). Even at this price I would hit the DHCS over the cache of Porsche for my track car first. It offers a lot of capability for the money.

911s have been grossly overpriced for a while now, IMO.
And the starting price went from 135k last time I looked to 148k before options. A good car, a strong brand, and customers lined up. Not a bad position to be in.

i agree the 911s being a bit pricy are deserved for the reputation the brand built around those cars, but i wouldnt go so far as to say Porsche is in a good position to be pushing prices any further considering their 98% drop in profits last year. IMO they need to stabilize their EV segment before they can make that kind of risk.

Been in that position a few times but once I got my 17 EB and then on to GT’s, there is NO going back for me personally. And from the images that @TMR shared, the DHSC looks more Aggressive and ready than the Porsche but Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. I would, and might …… choose (and possibly get) the Dark Horse SC.

These prices are… either comical or depressing I’m not sure which. At 150k I don’t think it’s the one I would choose

My dealer where I purchased my 25DH told me yesterday If i order a SC, there adding $30k markup, crazy total cost 180k plus 20k in tax. 200k, I love my tremec 6 spd. That will stay in my garage.
Yesterday, a dealership here in Virginia reconfirmed they would do a $10k ADM. Another dealership 15 miles away said $25k ADM. Quite a variation.

HILARIOUS! At anything approaching $200k I'd be driving a used Huracan, not a reskinned GT500. And I LOVE Mustangs and American cars, as shown in my signature.

It seems everyone is nudging to the 140k+ numbers. It used to be Shelby of America or another 3rd party shop was doing this when you bought a Mustang. Now Ford is stepping in. Admittelly its a lot of car, and as it has been said, there's a @ss for every seat....so they will keep making them.

The shameful part is dealers doing the ADM markups. It will be nice to see these vehicles in action. I have already secured and have my build ready, which is what I decided to do after I sold my Shelby. I think I will be fine. :)
