In general, I find the "easy" way in Forescan to be hit or miss. I have now gone to using the hex code for all changes I make and even though it may be a little more cumbersome, I find I get more consistent positive results.
Do you have a screen shot of what the correct hex number change looks like so i may compare to what I have. And where exactly do you make that hex change?

That's pretty odd, especially for you @Stangnutlx What about errors in the logs? It's been a while... I think you might have to enable logging. when you do, it saves the logs on your computer under a specific directory. It may reveal something.

I can't comment beyond the continuous gear display, but, in my experience using the direct table overlay didn't change the outcome.

The fact that it is partially working seems odd. Do you use custom gauges? Profiles?
Check all of your drive modes for the gear display if you haven't already.

Try to disable it then verify it is disabled

And then enable it from the hex instead of the easy mode
Got the address and hex number needed for such changes?
I’m fixing to go play with my Forescan shortly.

I was playing around for 1-2 hours using a laptop and forscan and my car battery drained to 10.5v. Anyone else had this happen? Guess I will need to keep my Noco 10 charger attached while doing forscan activities.

Yes happens to me too. I fully charge it then put my noco on it to keep charged. There's so much to check out on there.

I assume the Gear display hack in forscan only works in Sport mode or am I wrong? I did it to my DH and all I see it in is sport.
I found the gear display in the simplified menu as an option.

S650 dash swap completed in my S550, kick panel back on and cleaned the wires, I am still working on the steering wheel switches, have a plan to wire the s650 gateway only for the SCCM and am working on the electronic rear parking conversion with the brembo, thanks to everyone who helped with s650 forscan coding i needed!

Ok i figured it out on my turd @Bullit69

Gear display mode: disabled - was previously enabled- Found by chance by just disabling it
Continuous gear disp: enabled

now the gears show up in every mode.
Could you post a picture? I'm curious as to how it looks before I start playing around with my settings.

Put the shifter in M... that is how it will look...

I'm back with another question on my S650 dash swapped S550, so was wondering if anyone can help?
- The profiles, I was able to create my own profile but I can't configure it to my key, the key detection module is still intact from my S550 and works with the S650 dash modules but it wont program the profile.
- I got the GPS working not knowing it was a Sync Module With Gps when I was first troubleshooting the swap, now that the swap is done, it shows maps but GPS has a slash through it meaning obviously no gps, can I turn off the maps since i only use android auto anyways? Cause the maps show I'm in a whole other city like 20 miles away.
- my drive modes on the center screen show like 10x normal modes with no info, am I missing a module? I have the IPC, Sync4, APIM, SCCM, and the HVAC module

I don't have that profile screen on my car at all, when i push the pony button and create custom drive modes it does not look like that, if i remember ill grab a pic next time i go for a drive.

The Gps slash through i had a similar problem when i upgraded to a GPS APIM, i had to install a different antena on the back. Then in forscan APIM easy mode there is a gps setting were it gets gps data from TCU or the newly installed antenna. Once i selected the other option other than TCU it worked as intended. Sorry its been a while since i was inside the APIM area.
