Yeah, I agree. only time I would want more weight in the back is if I’m stuck otherwise to many negatives when stopping or corneringI've never found a need to put "ballast" in the trunk after MANY years of driving in the snow. Besides, that extra weight means 2 things -- longer stopping distance in an already compromised environment, and if you do have an accident that weight isn't static and sitting there but can come through the folding rear seat and is now aimed squarely at YOU but your body and head will conveniently stop it.
Got up to a blizzard this morning. Only had to drive to my office 5 miles away instead of the other office which is 25 miles away today.
