Mustang Unleashed Driving (Track) Experience - Report

Just wanted to post up a thread on the Mustang Unleashed one-day program they are providing for S650 buyers at Charlotte Speedway. I did this and was really, really impressed overall! The track time was significant and the pro drivers were very good at lead-follow to get you up to speed. The infield section was tight and technical but you got about a mile on the big oval, which was very cool! Our last session we got up just over 110MPH before braking HARD for the hairpin back into the infield. But the REAL eye-opener was the demo ride with one of the pro drivers, in the same car you drove! Could not believe how much harder those guys can drive! Just night and day! The other parts (X-cross, balloon car and lane change) were fine and also well done, but can't compare with the real track time. Overall, I can't suggest enough to take advantage of this great benefit from Ford. These guys run a quality show and you won't be disappointed!

It is two days; yes. The first day is just a dinner event. Day “two” is driving.

I am doing the Poler Run in two weeks and looking forward to it. I would like to do the Track event, but I had to give it up after a day on the track three years ago, due an eye issue that caused losing sight in one eye for three months due to the G-forces.

I really enjoyed it as well. Can't agree more with the OP in the on track with the instructor. On another note about the free water bottles. I just went to use it and it smell and taste like water hose water. Currently soaking the inside with hot water and baking soda to see if that gets the odor out.

Thanks for the report, I was wondering if this was worth doing. Did you do the road course or the drag strip experience?

Yeah, was wife but she decided no interest on the manual. She has done the BMW version several times.
