If you can afford to buy a Mustang you can afford to take it to a Ford dealership for an oil change.
šŸ˜€
Why would you want to take it there

Ford has a technician shortage as it is

ALL car dealerships (that I know of) have a technician shortage. Blame the "flat rate" system and supply your own tools system. I asked the tech that did my last oil change how he liked working for the dealership. He said: "fine except for the pay".

Just yesterday, I had a Ford Mobile Tech come to my house and change the oil right in my driveway. Appointment was made in 4 days. He arrived early and did a fantastic clean job. And yes, he drained all the oil out the drain plug, not siphoned. He was awesome, and it all took under an hour.

Its a shame all dealers don't offer mobile techs, they are more focused on the task at hand. And yes....he got a healthy tip.

Good for you for tipping him. Unfortunately, everybody and their pet dog expects a tip today whether they earned a tip or not. I've read where people are tipping less because of it.

Exactly like that.
Coyote ā€œBBQ Igniterā€ or ā€œtypewriterā€ tick. It’ll go away within a 1000 miles only to come back after your next oil change.

My first oil change was free from the dealership, except for the upcharge of $9.37 a qt. for the full synthetic. He stands by doing it the right way and double checking his work. He also risks injury or worse every day crawling under a car just held on by a floor jack and jack stands. He was super nice and a new father for the 2nd time. I had no trouble tipping him $80 and still felt like I was ahead. I remember when $80 seemed like a lot, now it's just 2 stops at the gas station...so screw it. Reward where it's deserved.

Does it sound like this? And goes away when driving only to come back the next time you start it?

Is that the pcv valve? Mine makes a sound like this but it sounds more clicky and raspy kinda like a creaking or arcing the dealership said it's a normal pcv sound on mine anyway. And it's only after warmed up or hot. It can be heard if there is a wall or something for the sound to bounce off of both sides. Have you confirmed what the sound is on yours ?

No, PCV is on the other passenger side. It’s something inside the engine on the driver side. I’ve heard multiple theories. But this is the classic coyote tick.

Getting an oil change isn't rocket science. I use my dealer to avoid $hitbird quickie oil changes - where what you describe is common. Geez, why cheap-out on such a vital engine insurance. I request that the tech pre fill my oil filter. This prevents a host of potential problems. The service advisors are now "trained" and put "pre-fill oil filter" on my worksheet as soon as they see me coming and I always check my oil level on the dealer's lot.....which BTW they can see me doing. I have had service techs buy two cars I have traded-in. They get it.

He did. Read above. And for the record, most dealers are just as bad, if not worse than the lube shops.

I'm very suspicious of any business with Quick in their name.

Im curious about what the "coyote tick" is actually from. Maybe a Ford technician would know how to answer that. :inspect:

That's been a debate since 2011, and to a lager extent since 2018 when it became prevalent in the 3rd gen coyote. There are theories, but no tech or any one from Ford has been able to formally diagnose. If you want to go down the rabbit hole, do a search on the 6g forum. I'd highly recommend against it if you like your sanity though.
