I can watch my Ford dealer at their Quick Lane center do the oil changes thru a large window in the customer lounge. In and out in less than an hour, about $100 for full synthetic and my back doesn't hurt! For the oil filter on all my vehicles, motorcycles, boat, tractor etc, the past 60 years or so I hand turn until the base is touched, then turn 1/2 to 3/4 more with a cap tool if necessary after marking the filter. Never had a problem getting it off or leak.
