I think it's better if water doesn't get into the interior than to have a nice body under the cover under the hood. Personally, I don't care at all what the result of this repair looks like...🙂

"the bigger the glob, the better the job" :) :)
I kinda wonder why they inspect the bcm before replacing but repair the seams before verifying

Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean the job shouldn't be clean and professional. We paid good money for these cars. I expect the "fix" to have a higher standard of quality than what a 5-year and a caulking gun can do. 😉

Well dropped mine off today, and they don’t have the parts needed to do the recall. So will have to reschedule sometime next week to get the recall done but they told me they’d have to probably keep the car for a few days. May ask for pictures of how they sealed the car and ask them if they can do a cleaner job too

Just do what I do, tell them your expectations and that gives them an out as a sub-par dealer if they think that's what they are. If they don't think they can do a good job, I don't either.

The recall is supposed to be a 2 hour procedure ...Maybe 3 hours at the most...if they know what they are doing.

My dealership also asked for couple days to work on the car initially, I got it reschedule for Saturday and they said one of day of work. (From 7am to 5pm).

Not sure if links are allowed, but a tech posted the results of a fix to Reddit. Looks a little....less than professional....

In curious of the longevity of this "fix". Or is it just something to get it past the warranty period.

No wonder the specific sealant for this recall is so hard to come by; these techs are using 3 entire tubes of it per Mustang!

Normally this sort of thing wouldn't bother me, but man does that look... rough.

We were able to get 30 tubes, and were told once they were gone, that it was a back order item. These are about half the size of a Home Depot caulking tube, and I don't know how many it takes per car. Our windshield guy offered an alternative product, but it was not acceptable to Ford.
We are still laughing here about "the bigger the gob, the better the job!"

Leave some for us in the UK, we don’t want to wait on a back order😜

Looks like still Q1 over here 🤦‍♂️

Ugh. I'm not going to drop my car off so it can sit on the lot for a few days before you get around to fixing it. It's a one day job Ford. Let us make an appointment.
