Yeah, that's a straight rip off....and one of the reasons I do everything myself in my garage.Went to the dealership to get service done. Advisor showed me this printed out āmenuā for āmy vehicleā. Me thinking it would be substantial since itās 15k miles, went ahead. Sat down and looked at my service manual and was like, something was off. Went back and got a copy of the āmenuā and compared it to the works and lo and behold, this is basically the works with some bullshit add ons. Pissed at myself for not catching it sooner.![]()
That said, one thing nobody here should ever pay for is getting a new cabin air filter installed. Itās so easy and itās a $15 part a dealer charges like $100 to put in. Itās a 2 minute job.
I put in a K&N cabin filter and changed the factory torx bit screw to a cross tip one makes it even easier.
Oh, boy, are you in for a culture shock.Relocated to CA for work. Just so happens that I needed the oil change when we got here![]()
It dawned on me a little too late. This is Future Ford Roseville.Dealerships make their money scheduled service. But this is just straight up bend over and grab your ankles. How on earth did the OP not question this? Please post the name of dealership so they can be appropriately shamed. And no, this isn't a California thing lol. This is a shadey AF dealer thing.
Bummed to hear you had a bad experience. I had a good experience with this dealer for service most recently. Per online reviews they are the best-rated Ford Service department in the area. Online reviews are often manipulated, so who knows.Future Ford Roseville.
That was a painful lesson that you won't repeat! I hope you exact some benefit down the road! GlennThatās exactly what it feels like right now. And what makes it worse is, the owner of the damn dealership has a GTD out in the showroom floor because heās ran out of space in his garage. All these useless add-ons paid for that GTD, and I chipped in š„²
