I just drover from Pittsburgh to Florida and got my first oil change. I used Ford 5/30 Full Synthetic. The tech did an outstanding job. I admit I was scared at times. They do not charge extra for remote service. I’m sure this will generate some comments. I will be getting my ‘06 GT done next week.

I have been using the same service....I LOVE it......so nice to have them do the work at my house.....
That way you can watch it being done and not let them fuck up your car. I just won't let a car go "behind the wall" for anything if I don't know and trust the people. My trust is hard to get with my cars because they didn't pay for it and can't care as much as I can.

I had a mobile tech do my first oil change. He was excellent and did a full drain out the bolt vs. siphon. it's the only way to go!

LouG: a Mobile Service tech can do almost anything, rotate tires, software updates, oil, filters, etc.

One of the few things they can't do is recalls, and obvious involved work.

looks like the tech floor jacked it one side at a time and then lowered it on jack stands. how did the pinch welds handle the jack? did you have him replace the belly pan or leave it off? any rattles, squeaks, tics afterward? looks like a good way to go

I hope you guys can give advice. A tech did this to my previous car and it bent the pinch welds. In one year all four corners were rusted out. Is there a solution to prevent this? Is there some type of bar to protect the welds? The car had to be thrown out as it rusted in all four corners. I’m scared of this happening to my mustang but it is convenient to do driveway oil changes.

Any oil spills on the road?
Not a drop. He even laid a tarp in case.

I don't think the pinch welds were harmed. I forgot to look to see it his jack had a pad.

He removed the plastic guard, damaged one of the plastic clips as expected, but I had a bad of replacements on hand. It is almost unavoidable to not damage those little clip/screws.

Once the car is jacked up, it's supported with 2 stands, so no real uneven stress on the chassis. Besides, this car is made for track use, it should be able to handle being jacked.

Overall the job was done super clean, and he got a healthy tip from me.

@Ghostrealm - I get your concern 100% .....you can get lifting chocks and pads of a number of varieties that will fit over your pinch welds or onto the jack to protect your welds. Agree 100% that on many Mustangs these have been destroyed by idiots. When I sold my 2014 Mustang before buying my 2024 GT Vert. The purchaser asked if he could put it on a lift at a local Ford Dealer. The tech came in and said the welds were as good as new. Car sold right on the spot. The pinch welds can be absolutely protected. You can google many, many options if you want your Mustang lifted using its pinch welds .....at the DESIGNATED lift points!!!!!

Wow thanks for the great advice. So I was thinking is the axle or a metal part deeper to where your suspension is safe to jack from there? A local shop said it’s not safe there? Also do you have a link to a pad that can fit into the crevice of the jacking point? That is a spot that needs the most protection . Once it’s curled there from damage the car is a goner.

So if the tech jacked up the car one side at a time and then put jack stands under the car, where did he place the jack? Pinch weld I assume, and then where did he place the jack stands?
