When did the 3.55 become a standalone option?? Originally it required PP and order guide didn't specify anything.

Also, the 3.15 is a Torsen as a seen here. Am I wrong?

It has been a standalone option for YEARS. I ordered it for my wife’s 2022 GT convertible.

The 3.15 was never a TORSEN and highly doubt it is on the S650. Most likely just another web error.

Also the standalone 3.55 option is not a TORSEN. That is only used in the A10 PP.

I only got the PP because I needed it to get the optional exhaust and suspension options

I got the 3.55 as an option when I ordered my 2015 Mustang so it's been a thing since the launch of S550 but idk if every year had the option

So essentially nobody knows the answer regarding the 3.55. If it's not in the documentation it's all conjecture.
Regarding the 3.55 as a standalone, it isn't mentioned in the order guide and the original configurator required PP when you selected the 3.55

The 3.55 has been a stand-alone option for the last 8yrs. It can be found on page 14 of the order guide, which specifies that it is not Available with GT Performance Package.

There are two different axles. “44U” is the optional standard LSD for all non PP cars. The “44X“ is standard on the PP cars. It is a TORSEN.

Back in 2011 GT I ordered 3:55's stand alone. 3:73 was also available. For that year they were conventional posi and not torsion. So its been around for more than 10 years.

I didn’t want the track pack and ended up with a 3.55 differential as a standalone option. See below. My build is a manual if that matters.

I wouldn't order a Mustang without the PP, period. I don't necessarily plan to track the car or anything, but the upgrades are required for me. :sunglasses:

Just an FYI guys the PP1 is not a track car package, period. It makes the car a better street sports car and it you are going to track the base DH is a minimum. I’m talking about HPDE also not strip duty.

So true. The base GT suspension is setup for the 80% of Mustang owners who will never push the car beyond its limits. The PP is designed for the other 15%. Now the 5% getting the PP & MagneRide realize they can have it all.
