I usually do mine at 2k. Any input or why you do yours then or sooner?

i did my first oil change at around 1000 miles. not looking forward to future oil changes. requires the removal of 21 7mm bolts to get the filter without making a huge mess

Many do their initial at a 1000 miles / 1600 kilometers.

Skye is a weekend/Holiday car and not a DD.

I did my initial at 1265 mi / 2035 km.

Leaning forward to Winter storage, I completed my second this week at 2546 mi / 4100 km.

I think it's a good practice to accomplish the first around a 1000 or a bit more. There's a lot of crud leftover from original machining and breaking-in. Blackstone Labs believes there's something of a flushing effect with a new engine, that it takes some initial oil changes to remove what was there from first miles and parts seating.

Reviewing my magnetic drain plug (installed during first oil change) this week, I can confirm Blackstone's thoughts.

I do not recommend changing the oil sooner than completion of recommended break-in period. I do believe the factory fill contains at least one additive (IMO, XL-17) to assist with seating the parts.

YMMV.

What oil plug is that? I didn’t know they had one out for the 24. Cause we have a metal pan again correct?

It's a UPR type for my 2022.

Correct: Members have confirmed the S650 is using a traditional metal pan and plug.

I'd expect the aftermarket to field S650 versions as soon as it's possible.

Wow - I haven't looked underneath it yet. 21 bolts to remove the belly pan?

I'm going to change mine in about 3 weeks before I put it into storage for the winter. I'm figuring I'll have about 700 miles on the odometer by then. I want to have fresh oil in it before it sits for 5 months.

I'll do mine when I pass 1000 miles at which point ill start pushing the car more just before the first oil change.
I’m close to 600 now and thinking I may do it after really getting on it for a few hundred miles after i hit 1000 as well now that you mention this

Probably do it myself at 1k or 1500k.

I usually let the dealer do them, as they were free for two years. Now they canceled that program, and I am not paying $190 for a damn oil change.

I know this has probably been answered somewhere else.

Does everyone go with full synthetic? Popular brand?

Mine will hit 1000 this weekend. I will probably put it away in a few weeks.
