I know this has probably been answered somewhere else.

Does everyone go with full synthetic? Popular brand?

Mine will hit 1000 this weekend. I will probably put it away in a few weeks.
full sythetic. I use Quaker State Ultimate their full synthetic. It meets all the standards and i ran it in my S550 at 5k oil changes with no issues.

Full Synthetic. Amsoil SIGNATURE SERIES 5W-30 SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL. One of the best out there. It goes beyond some of the standards, use up to 25,000 miles(highway driving mostly) or one year, or 10k miles heavy aggressive driving. Up there in quality, or above, Mobil 1 full synthetic extended. Not so costly if you buy directly from them and opt to become a 6 month preferred customer for $10 bucks. $132/year depending on your driving style.

These videos are not what made me decide, but I did a lot of research on the best motor oils. This gives you an idea though.

Full synthetic, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum "PUP", 5W-30.

There are a lot of great oils out there. 1) Find something that meets or exceeds requirements, 2) use it consistently, 3) follow the maintenance schedule 4) always perform a complete warmup before any spirited driving, 5) don't abuse the mechanicals, 6) document things well (photos, log book, Ford Pass App).

i did my first oil change at around 1000 miles. not looking forward to future oil changes. requires the removal of 21 7mm bolts to get the filter without making a huge mess
You didn’t take it to ford to do?

Probably do it myself at 1k or 1500k.

I usually let the dealer do them, as they were free for two years. Now they canceled that program, and I am not paying $190 for a damn oil change.
Don’t you have ford pass? If so use your points

When I had my Civic Si, I was told not to do the first oil change early, because it is a different oil that will help with break-in.

Not sure Ford does the samething, if its regular oil, I wouldn't go past 3-5k

there has been nothing from ford saying it’s a break in oil that i have seen over the past several years

Just curious why do an oil change before the 5-7K miles? This is my first new car so I’m curious just cause if it helps I’ll do it myself once I hit the 1K or so miles.

also anyone knows what brand of oil they use on the new GT’s?

cause it’s a new engine and the wear metals from break in get in the oil. Some people wait some people don’t. I’m sure it’s 5w-30 i haven’t looked at the cap. But it’s in the manual too.
