As the car makes major power with headers and full exhaust, I was curious if a full titanium exhaust system would be a possibility down the line with the current aftermarket vendors. Not sure if such a system was ever developed for the s550 chassis.

The weight savings over the stainless-steel exhaust system offerings would be substantial.

So it stands to reason, since titanium is ~40% lighter than SS. The headers and exhaust would save close to 80lbs over SS systems.

This along with some other modifications could save considerable low-slung weight for further improved handling and track performance.

Thoughts?

Price per hp, would rather get whipped.

Get a solid system made with 304 stainless steel. You'll be happy with it. No need to go to titanium. As for the wt savings...maybe go open header on the track with an 18 inch header extension tube if weight is a major concern on the track. It will take heavy modification to make it work with modern emissions equipment. Also, with the locked ECU IDK how viable that would make it for you to run open headers, but it's an option if you're brave enough.

IMO there are better ways to spend $15,000. A full SS exhaust right now can run you $3-4,000 if not more. If someone ever comes out with a similar but Ti setup, it will easily be 3-4x more expensive just from a rarity standpoint (unless everyone does it which I highly doubt).

A car with an $8,000 supercharger + $7,000 in suspension and other supporting mods will run crop circles around a stock car with a full Ti exhaust system and nothing else.

I believe there is very little to no market for a titanium exhaust in the Mustang world. See folks and BMW Porsche spend $10,000+ to get a titanium exhaust to save a little bit of weight and very little horsepower

Herfurth aluminum exhaust is the move, ultra light at a very reasonable price, it’s on a few already I believe.

Pretty cool and priced reasonably but it sounds like they are basically describing a corsa extreme sound profile. I'm not sure how much the corsa system weighs, but they say it's 13% lighter than stock on the website. This one appears to weigh about 40lbs
I figure weight savings and its got the active component to mute the sound down as i don't have active exhaust. The factory system is about 20-25 lbs per muffler and the resonator about 30-35. i would average about 75 -85 pounds all said for the whole system for a cat back. Corsa claims the extreme is 16 lbs lighter than stock. id say either way its nota bad deal. I was going to go with the h pipe as titanium can get tinny and hollow sometimes.

Bit late to the thread but this is the exhaust im putting on my gt once i get a few more things done to it. https://valvedexhausts.ca/products/...alved-cat-back-exhaust?variant=43084685869256
i recommend being wary of this company. i thought it was interesting that they were offering a full cat-back titanium active system that costs ~$2800, and i did some digging. the website has been around since 2021, but i cant really find much of anything online about their products (may also be because of their generic name). they have a somewhat popular Instagram page, but have not posted since January 2023, and their YouTube channel is a ghost town with less than 600 subscribers and their last video posted in November of 2023. one thing they have going for them, though, is their reviews on the website, which are powered by a third-party tool called "Judge.me", which itself has 4.9 stars on TrustPilot over 2100+ reviews

Beautiful exhaust system. If it came with a car valet to keep it pretty for me ........................I might consider it.

I had a Sato Racing full Ti exhaust on my 2007 ZX 14.

S650 Mustang Titanium Exhaust? ycNOcJ3l

The OEM system was SS with double walled SS muffs. Couldn't believe the weight difference; saved 30+ lbs on what "was" a 565 lb bike.
Sigh! Even if I still had it; I doubt I could "Red Green" it enough to make it fit my GT. 😢

update on this: i contacted the company asking for a picture they did not have listed and they responded within 5 minutes with an image that i ran through a couple tools, and they all agreed that it was real and not AI. still be cautious, but things are looking better

I have the 10k Akra system on my V4, titanium is amazing but for most car uses I’d say skip it. You’re going to spend 10-20k easily
