I do like the VAG 'individual' mode setting . You can mix and match most parameters and , on later models, use a slider to fine tune the adaptive dampers.

I have mine mapped in my tune but I have a Soler on the way now and will be here tomorrow. I want more versatility compared to a few tunes.

Watch some installs videos and you’ll see how easy they come install and uninstall. They won’t pick up on your ECM or any other module in your car. It just changes the signal voltage from the pedal aka potentiometer.
Yes it does look like a pretty simple ordeal.

Well this is some real food for thought. thank you so much for sharing the existence of these things. I would have never discovered these on my own. ill have to decide if i enjoy being in sport mode suspension enough to drop a few hundred to get that throttle control back to normal.

May i ask why you chose the Soler over the others?

Reading through this thread got me interested. Then I ended up watching the Banks PedalMonster vs Pedal Commander fact check video, of which I am not a Banks fan (doesn't mean I hate on him either) but it was actually really comical to watch. Watching these two battle it out left me going back to the Soler device. It gives more combinations (settings), had good reviews, and is priced right for what I was looking for. Also can control is from both the phone and the screen. I'm expecting to disconnect the screen once I get it where I want it. I watched a corvette guys video and that was how he was going to do it.

Hi S650 owners

Ive decided im not a fan of the sports mode throttle mapping (or whatever its called). Normal mode is fine. If you want to get on it, get on it. if you want to drive like a human you can. I find with the sports mode youre always on a triggers edge.....its just way to sensitive for day to day driving.

Is there no way to make a custom driving mode where you get the suspension tightening changes of sports mode......but maintain the throttle/pedal mapping of normal mode? I cant seem to figure it out in the menu options......

thanks team
You have to adjust your foot. The input is front loaded in sport mode to make it feel more responsive. If you give it the same amount of pedal as normal mode the car thinks you are wanting aggressive acceleration. Also if your car is new it takes awhile for it to learn. After driving in sport mode and putting some miles on it my sport mode has settled down and no longer holds gears too long and downs shifts too far.

Also, you can not change the suspension mode independently of the drive mode. Its a major downside to the magnaride system.

not without a tune. Its easy with a tune. The pedal maps per mode can all be changed.
You cant change the suspension setting with a tune though.

its heartwarming to know that im not the only one with this complaint. what a massive oversight on fords part. Whats the point of all these modes if you can mix and match what you like from them. What a shame. I hope they make an over the air update/change to that in the future.

thank you for suggesting tune info. Im not doing a tune of any kind as im afraid of it voiding out warranty claims. even claims that might seem unrelated. I really enjoy this car and plan on picking up the extended warranty to get me to 10 years with it. Its a ford - so i know everything in it will be breaking in the immediate to near future. gotta have that warranty lol
You cant change it in an over the air update. The suspension settings have been this way since magnaride was introduced on the S550. Customization was a common complaint on those cars too. Its why I didn't opt for magnaride on my S650.

@24CTDH, It was delivered late yesterday and got it installed last night. The process was dead simple. Took less than 5 minutes to plug in and zip tie. I was paired and back on the road in under 10 minutes total. That was doing it in the dark outside with a flashlight.

Install:
I ran my display cable along the center console, popped the shifter trim, and tucked it back down the other side, so the plug enters from the passenger side. This keeps the display right side up, and I have it resting in the wireless charging area. I didn’t mount it because I think I will just tuck the display away or remove the control head. Will probably tuck it away so I can just use the app. The display drives the Bluetooth connection.

Driving Impressions:
The difference is night and day. I started on Ludicrous 9 just to see what would happen. It’s wild, and I dialed it back pretty quickly. Here is how the settings felt to me:

  • Sport 7: This seems to be the "internet favorite" for a reason. It’s a great, aggressive mapping that really wakes the car up.
  • Economy 9: I tried this on the way back from grabbing a tank of E85. Never again. If you think stock is laggy, this is the "speed of smell" slow. It limits the throttle so much it’s almost painful to drive and somewhat dangerous because my judgment was faster than the input.
  • Comfort 7: I switched to this for the morning commute, and it’s a total sweet spot. Smooth but very responsive.
Soler Modes vs. the OEM Drive Modes

For those wondering how these overlap with the factory Ford settings, here is my takeaway:
  • OEM: Feels like Normal/Stock.
  • Economy: Softer than "Slippery" mode.
  • Comfort: Sport mode feel plus a little extra.
  • Sport: Like Sport mode but significantly more aggressive.
  • Ludicrous: Sport mode on a massive dose of steroids.
  • Drag: The shortest possible path from idle to 100% WOT.
Why I bought it:
I personally prefer driving in Track Mode, but I always hated the sluggish throttle response for street use. My tuner tried to adjust the mapping, but it started causing the transmission to hunt for gears.

The beauty of the Soler unit is that it lets me keep the stock pedal map in the tune, keeping the shifting logic happy, while I manage the pedal feel separately. Plus, the Soler setting stays locked even when you toggle through the Mustang’s drive modes. They operate completely independently of each other. A quick word of caution: It definitely takes a minute to recalibrate your foot. I almost left two stripes in my own driveway this morning just pulling out.

Also, unlike some other units on the market, this doesn't have a "Reverse Safety." I picked up on this when I watched that Banks PedalMonster vs Pedal Commander fact check video. It’s sensitive regardless of whether you're in P, N, R, D, or M. It doesn’t know what gear you're in, so be careful backing into a parking spot. I can just hear it now. My splitter looks great on the front, but my spoiler is a bit tweaked.

Overall, definitely worth the upgrade if you want to kill that factory lag.

thank you for the thorough update. Im absolutely sold. I just placed an order. Not waiting for black friday.

I love your evaluation of the different drive modes - ludacris mode lol. 🙄

Im hopeful to find a mode thats between normal and sport that is suitable. I dont like what i perceive is the hypersensitivity of sport mode, but the lethargic lag off the line in normal has gotta go. sounds like Comfort might be where ill start experimenting

thank you again Goodlettjr!

It's soooo stupid having so many slots for different profiles when you can barely customize anything on them.
I knew from previous posts here that the magneride suspension settings couldn't be changed independently of the drive modes, but when I bought my car in December I was baffled by all those profile slots. It wouldn't surprise me if Ford originally intended for more customization when they designed the features in the infotainment system, but then abandoned it later for cost reasons.

The S650 custom modes are a joke. I feel like I have less choice than my S550. Practically all you can do is select a base mode and what exhaust volume you want. I basically just want track mode with regular throttle input and traction control on. "Oh no, can't be done". What's even the point.

I'm in sport mode but want to switch to light steering while I navigate this parking lot or fast food drivethru. "Sorry, impossible. Switch to normal mode and watch the distracting as hell movie that plays over your instrument cluster that got old after having the car for a week."

Honestly, this is one of those things that I truly can't understand. You buy a car with magnaride and you can't set it to your needs... Crazy.

In the DH it comes as default, so we couldn't really say that it was a choice. But on another car I own I paid good money for it as extra, and I

Agreed. Unfortunately this has been a thing with the Mustang for several years now going all the way back to the S550. The custom modes are a joke because the only thing you can change independently of the drive mode is the exhaust mode.
