Hi S650 owners

Ive decided im not a fan of the sports mode throttle mapping (or whatever its called). Normal mode is fine. If you want to get on it, get on it. if you want to drive like a human you can. I find with the sports mode youre always on a triggers edge.....its just way to sensitive for day to day driving.

Is there no way to make a custom driving mode where you get the suspension tightening changes of sports mode......but maintain the throttle/pedal mapping of normal mode? I cant seem to figure it out in the menu options......

thanks team

Unfortunately, there is no way to do that from the factory menus.

Custom tuning can change things but I’d only recommend going that route after you’ve installed performance upgrades.

I always drive my M6 in sport mode. No handling problems

I'm joining here just in case someday there is a solution for this.

6 user profiles... But you can't do anything with those profiles, silly as hell.

I like hard suspension and hard steering, as hard as possible on any case. But as you say, that doesn't mean that I want to drive con "circuit" mode as daily basis. Come on Ford...

not without a tune. Its easy with a tune. The pedal maps per mode can all be changed.

Same here. I wanted the linear throttle map of normal, the suspension of sport and the nannies of track. My Focus RS has a custom mode that had to be enabled via forscan, hopefully one day someone can find it on the Mustang

I guess that the point here is why it is not available just as standard feature. It's soooo stupid having so many slots for different profiles we you can barely customize anything on then.

I would be happy with just one profile, but open to any possible combination, as I already have with other cars.

its heartwarming to know that im not the only one with this complaint. what a massive oversight on fords part. Whats the point of all these modes if you can mix and match what you like from them. What a shame. I hope they make an over the air update/change to that in the future.

thank you for suggesting tune info. Im not doing a tune of any kind as im afraid of it voiding out warranty claims. even claims that might seem unrelated. I really enjoy this car and plan on picking up the extended warranty to get me to 10 years with it. Its a ford - so i know everything in it will be breaking in the immediate to near future. gotta have that warranty lol

I'm afraid that, whatever is the reason behind, any incoming update to fix it is quite unlikely. Basically because this is not a new car anymore, and apparently they don't seem to feel that there is anything to be fixed here...

I'm truly truly willing to be wrong.

those are very interesting. Im reading the last link you sent, the pedalcommander, they claim they arent going to void your warranty eh? You can just plug them in and unplug them at your will? If something goes wrong or you need to take your car into for work you're able to just unplug them and theres no way for them to detect your screwing around with the inputs on the EUC?
Sounds almost to good to be true, and you know what they say about that!

It also talks about eliminating that throttle lag when you start off in 1st gear. That feature is new to me with this vehicle. all the manuals ive driven are from the 90s or older. i picked up this car and i thought I just didnt know how to drive it or something. That initial hiccup when youre trying to get out of first gear drives me nuts. makes everyone think you were born yesterday and dont know how to drive your car. If i could eliminate that i would be ecstatic.

Do you have experience with these products goodlettjr? or if anyone else reading this thread has experience with these items please chime in. They sound like a real workaround. put it in sport mode and then just adjust the throttle mapping on one of these devices to get it back to normal mapping. Hrmmmmm!!!

My guess is that you need to buy one of these.

Soler - SE0622-TC DLX Bluetooth® Throttle Controller for Ford Models
Banks - PedalMonster
Pedal Commander

Set it to the mode you want for steering / suspension and then change the throttle mapping.

@tastetickles FYI, the stockpedal mapping is not linear. It is a modulated curve of some sort like the rest of the modes. None of them are a 45 degree line across a % of input and % of output.
while not 100% perfectly linear, these plots zxmustang posted in another thread shows normal mode to be linear enough.

I have mine mapped in my tune but I have a Soler on the way now and will be here tomorrow. I want more versatility compared to a few tunes.

Watch some installs videos and you’ll see how easy they come install and uninstall. They won’t pick up on your ECM or any other module in your car. It just changes the signal voltage from the pedal aka potentiometer.

Fair enough… I recall this original post. My brain was thinking about another sample I saw. That is pretty linear. More than enough for me to sit back down on the bench. 😂
