Can you explain what changed in a "For Dummies" format from 2023 to 2024?
Basically...they have encrypted/signed the system so if you don't have the keys to sign/encrypt the new calibration the car won't run. Much different than before so that they can do over the air updates etc. companies like Whipple were given permission by ford to create tunes that are compatible.

Useless and pointless. Who cares about those?
I'll give it untill the end of year . See what kind of lower end torque people get out of the FP tune if it comes out soon and see if Wengerd somehow can get the car to start after putting their tune in.
Then, I will either do FP tune, Whipple, or Sell. Whipple is far fetched as I really don't have $15k to torch and worry about resell or getting into an accident with that much $ into it.
FYI , Fords big 4th sale of 20% off promo code gets you $200 off the whipple. pretty sure that's 2% by my calculations...lol

This is why I think it’ll never happen. Say custom tuning is unlocked, but there’s an over the air update. The key could easily change from fords side, so you’re locked out of any software updates if you don’t have an updated key. I’m curious how people would be able to tune around that. In cybersecurity, it’s similar to a jailbroken iPhone or just API keys. Don’t have a key from ford or the hash is different, that’s an automatic lock. And worst thing that could happen is software update is for something actually wrong with the car, so you’d be missing out
