If you had the choice for one option, would it be either the handling package or the painted stripe option on the dark horse?

+1handling pack 100%
I knew this might be a stupid question lol
There is a huge difference in the painted and non painted. Painted are over the top full stripes as the vinyl are just two thin hood stripes. And as for touch ups on the painted ones why would they ever need touch ups as it’s basically a complete painted and clear coated vehicle. I see no difference as a solid color vehicle. But agree on your HP thesis.Another for HP.
Painted stripes add little to no value to the car versus vinyl. Both types of stripes will be prone to damage. While the vinyl stripes can be removed and replaced as needed, painted ones will need touch-ups or ultimately a respray. It's not an option that piques the interest of drivers or passengers.
The Handling Pack option improves the performance and driving experience of the car. HP cars trade at a premium to base models. It's not one-for-one, but the option's cost is not lost over time.
From the 6G Mach 1 Registry, 42% of the vehicles listed have the HP option.
The only time I would not select the Handling Package is if the car was going to be a dedicated track car or spend most of its time on the track. Situations like this, the Owner is often looking for a specific suspension setup or something with adjustability ranges or features the HP bits cannot support. In these cases, it's often more effective to get a base model, gut the suspension and craft a new one with specific aftermarket parts.

Check. That, I was not aware of.There is a huge difference in the painted and non painted. Painted are over the top full stripes as the vinyl are just two thin hood stripes.
The non-painted stripes do not go over the top and do not go up on the towel. They are just two thin hood vinyl stripes. This is weird. I came out of the store yesterday and a race red DH was parked next to my Grabber Blue DH. Weird part - he had painted on black stripes (& no HP). First time I’ve seen them. They are pretty cool. Ran my fingers over them & it felt good. The pattern wasn’t my favorite but it was still cool.
If you can’t splurge for both, I vote HP

You are comparing a stripe to a mechanical upgrade. The handling package is a track option that you will never appreciate on the street. And you already said you aren't going to track it. You can put a stripe on any car. Its your money, but seriously ask yourself why you are buying this car.If you had the choice for one option, would it be either the handling package or the painted stripe option on the dark horse?
