There's a balance. For a while, Ford released a new mustang design every 5 years or so. We don't need a new design that often, but I also don't want to see Ford going 10 years with s650.The car is just now catching on…. We’ve been on the new shit for 3 years, ahead of the normie curve.
let it breathe a few more years, no rush
Has Ford said they'll reveal the next mustang for the 125th anniversary? No, that's just a fun idea I have, because we know unless something changes, that's pretty close to when Ford's launching the next gen mustang anyways. So it would just be really neat for Ford's 125th for them to do a bunch of concepts previewing products coming in the near future.Has Ford said that?
But again, it depends on if Ford still plans on launching s750 near the end of the 2020s or if it's gonna get pushed further out.Has Ford said that?
Its not gonna be the S750 lol. They can only revise a platform so many times. But again, it depends on if Ford still plans on launching s750 near the end of the 2020s or if it's gonna get pushed further out.
Your post # 157 -True, but I mean for this upcoming spring/summer season.
Sorry, just to clarify, I'm referring to the Lincoln prototypes that were spied about a week ago because Ford owns Lincoln, and they often start testing their Ford/Lincoln prototypes around the same time.Your post # 157 -
"We're starting to see Ford prototypes running around, so maybe we'll see something soon."
"We're" not seeing any prototypes running around at all. The last ones were the DHSC. If "we" are then please share. Otherwise you are just making this up as you go along.![]()
While this would definitely be exciting, I'd take dealer word about products that far in the future with a grain of salt. Tunable caster/camber sounds pretty wild for anything less than a DHSC, and I'm not sure Ford would include magneride without requiring the performance package, which if their pricing model has been anything to go by, would lead to a price hike. This sounds a bit unreasonable to me, but I wholly invite Ford to prove me wrong. Matter of fact, I will gladly eat my words and trade to a MY28 if this happens.Just accepted my new 2024 Premium GT Convertible from my deraler yesterday. They expect some news in 2028 about changes. There was no mention of hybrid technology or even changing the Coyote. there was speculation there might be some bosdy tweaking and possibly including the magnetic dampening and some suspension upgrades, tunable caster/camber was discussed.
Nope, there’s something else to breakJust cause it’s added doesn’t mean it has value, although the multi function joystick spinner knob hands free display control mechanism isn’t half bad, in fact kinda wish the s650 had something similar.
Edit: added image for clarity.

Sure kept the screen smudge free thoughNope, there’s something else to break
The program code (S750 or whatever it may be) could still be on the same platform code (D2C) or something new.Its not gonna be the S750 lol. They can only revise a platform so many times.
We are decades away from making any significant headway in electrical infrastructure or mass EV adoption. They already tried that, with state and federal government's pushing for it and it didn't take. Car manufacturers have already reversed course and are either shelving or scaling back EV production in favor of their ICE models again. We aren't ready. The Mustang will be a straight ICE vehicle for at least the next decade. My guess is the next platform will be a hybrid V8, a nice improvement over what we currently have. More performance, while still retaining the visceral feel, but doing more to hedge against strict emissions laws.
I don't see mustang staying pure ICE or going full ev as both of those seem like a death sentence. Some purists will oppose a performance hybrid, but there's a lot more acceptance for hybrids now than there was 10 year ago.
Automaker decisions to scale back EVs and the lack of EV infrastructure are irrelevant to hybrid vehicles. The Corvette E-ray and ZR1X are impressive performing hybrids. We are decades away from making any significant headway in electrical infrastructure or mass EV adoption.
