Will there be an S650 refresh in 2026/2027?

Most of the people who ordered a car didn't received it yet, and we are here to discuss a facelift already.

The S550 came out in July 2014 and the facelift came out somewhere in 2017 I guess? That's a 3 year difference.
Do you think that the S650 will have a refresh that soon as well? That should be somewhere around 2026/2027 if they do the same as the previous generation.

In my opinion this is too quick. Many people don't buy the car on the first year it comes out. That means they will buy a new car and in 1 or 2 years there will be a newer one already. That's how technology and commerce work right? LOL.

I was a huge fan of the refresh model of the previous gen. It looked so much better than the 2015 model. I liked the front and the headlights and especially the ambient light with the new digital cluster. To me it was a huge upgrade.

If there are rumours that a refresh will come out around 2026/2027, then I will consider the wait, because in my opinion this new Mustang is not that new and futuristic as they advertised and has some things that I really like to see it done better on the refresh.

I still can't decide whether I like the rear or not. Sometimes I like it and sometimes not so much.
I still can't decide whether the large ipads on the dash are an upgrade or not. The screens are nice, but I prefer it tucked away in a curved dashboard.
The ambient light is a downgrade compared to the previous gen

I'm willing to pay 50k Euro's for a full optioned GT, but I want to feel that everything what is important to me is how I want it to be. The 2018+ was exactly how I wanted the Mustang. So I guess I'm going to wait for a refresh and travel a bit more around the world while waiting for it.

Depends how well it sells and when the take rates start to drop. GM moved pretty quick to try to fix the disaster refresh of the Camaro front end they did, not that it was that much better.

3 years is about right though, depending on the release. The F-150 is going through a refresh now and it's only been around since 2021.

I don’t think so, just this and the specialty models through 2028 until the electric mustang takes over.
I think this is it, the last of the 5.0s/5.2s and then it’s gone. Poof.

the transition will be so fast people will struggle to grasp the reality.

I think Farley is gone next year, take what he says with a grain of salt.

ford is literally putting ALL of its investment into EV factories and JV battery plants, while simultaneously closing engine/trans plants.

the writing is on the wall for us to see, not what they say but what they do.

look at Chevy/dodge….. ford is already falling behind them in the race to convert.

Interesting topic... Seeing as Farley has gone on record claiming the EV 150 was a nightmare to take on a long trip (see YouTube), I give him credit for telling it like it is. That being said, Tesla is doing well, the others, I dunno other than to say I see Ford EV sitting on the lots around me.

If we're being honest, I'm not convinced Ford as we know it will still be around by the end of the decade...

EVs have a looooong way to go, but in all things, they will get there, technology being what it is. I'm not going to go into environmental repercussions since that is not what we're discussing here. Given that, you can wait to see what will happen regarding a "refresh"; all in all, we make our own choices and throw caution to the wind.

pisttt....

If the admin changes in 2024.. for the better....

Much of this EV mandate horse shit is going with it.

EV is coming regardless, but the false urgency/narrative will ease with a change in DC hopefully.

Mid cycle refresh, most likely. When exactly, anyone’s guess.

I can get behind a hybrid "Powerboost" option, but I still want the ability to have a straight up, naturally aspirated V-8 with a manual transmission. The writing is on the wall, unfortunately (especially if the same party remains in the WH in 2025). Looks like my future grandchildren will have to come over to my house to ride in and hear what American power used to sound/feel like. I'll have plenty of Ford V-8s for them to enjoy!

Rumors had it that the next GT500 will come around in 2025...
Adding to the fact that Europe has tighter emission goals around the same time it's safe to assume that there will be a refresh around 25/26. The S650 was originally planned for 2022(not the once glory all new 2020 Mustang) and a 3 to 4 year mid-cycle refresh is pretty common these days. If we see further delays I would bet on a late 2026 release but we might even see a refresh for MY26.

My guesses:
GT500 successor
AWD hybrid
Android Automotive
Minor front and rear updates
Minor tweaks to the interior
