Not sure never tried the one's in the GT500. However the one's in my Dark Horse are comfortable and feel fine too me.

The recaros look sick as hell, awesome to ride in, I’m 6ft 185lbs, snug to my sides… but after a few hours… most will prefer the comforts

Me too, the base seats are for sure the "upscale" seats in the Dark Horse

I have a GT Premium 401a but I did test the Recaro seats in a car on the lot and at least for me, I found them "claustrophobic". feeling. I'm 6'1" 199 lbs for reference. I'm glad I went with the regular seats. I don't track my car FWIW.

IMO, the Recaro's, like any race seat, is not going to be comfortable for extended periods of driving, very little padding. They're designed for stability over comfort. Hell my ass was barking after just 45 min. of racing in Sparco seats.

Ordered my 25 gt pp with the Recaro seats. Delivered end of May. Took a few weeks to adjust. Feel great now. Don’t regret selecting the option at time of order. Had a base 24 gt non pp. Drove in 300a seats for about a year. Pros and cons to both. If you know what you getting into you will be good either way. Get the Recaro seats !!!!

I have the Recaro and I'm super happy I chose this option. They look crazy good. The only thing I wished for is that the huge RECARO letters on the seats were not there.

Drove 350+ miles in my wife’s Mazda CX-50 with power, leather, etc seats to get my DH. Recaros in the mustang were more comfortable than the Mazda on the trip back(I drove up and back). She complains because the passenger side Recaro can’t be adjusted up in my car. Driver side is very comfortable and I never ride shotgun. I would have been fine with either, but the car happened to have the Recaro option.
Love the car.

No they are not. I had a GT500 and I wish I had “base” seats in either car.

I find the Recaros to be a good balance of comfort and bucket seat functionality.
Feel comfortable after driving for hours and keep me in place when cornering hard.
Easy to jump in and out by just pushing the seat all the way back.
They make the interior feel a little more special too.
Depends on you body structure but if you're <200lbs recaros should work well.
