Paint Issue

I finally got around to hand washing the car today. Noticed this on the upper quarter panel close to the trunk.

Has anyone else ran into paint issues? Almost looks like debris got into the paint. I assume warranty would cover it. Would rather deal with this in the fall/winter than give up the car during prime driving season.

Yeah they are repainting my black roof. There are also some seam spots inside the trunk that are flaking too. Scheduled it for when I’m out of town.

Dirt in the paint, totally covered under warranty. Especially that noticeable.

If they push back, they're being lazy, go to a different dealer if you have one close by

My dealer has been super helpful, have changed out the driver door panel and the driver seat...both had imperfections that I was not happy with...I know it is not paint but still indicate the willingness to make it right

That will be covered and looks bad enough to probably get it fixed. First thing is to get it documented. I’m sure any body shop will work with you on timing the fix.

If it were me, and my dealer did push back (they wouldn't--stand up dealer)
I'd contact Ford directly about it.

My incomplete "warranty understanding" is the dealer does the repair, and corporate pays for it. So, why would a dealer push back?

The reasoning they once gave me for an interior rattle was that they had to have Ford approve the work first before they started tearing into the car, otherwise Ford might not reimburse them if they proceeded. But they had to have a good idea of what was causing the rattle before digging into it, and thus, couldn't do it. Maybe other dealers would have had a different approach, but this was the explanation I was given.

years ago, Ford would let the dealers do a lot of stuff and I think they got tired of paying for stuff that probably wasn't under warranty. Now every warranty claim has to be approved by Ford before they can move forward with it.

We've also got a Bronco, I put on an CAI on it (save your "you're stupid comments", I know they do nothing, but it looks really cool when you pop the hood). Had a low brake pressure light come on and not go away. They first tried to tell me I needed to put everything back to stock before they could look at it. I fought that and got them to inspect it. Ford told them to replace the ABS module. They did and it didn't fix it. I found online that the vacuum hose on 2022's would go bad and needed to be replaced with an updated hose. I brought that to their attention, gave them a copy of the TSB. Ford wouldn't allow them to change it out because ours is a '23 model. Back and forth we went. I ended up buying a new hose and had them install it and guess what, it doesn't have a low pressure light on anymore. I was reimbursed the cost of the hose

I've got numerous quality issues with mine. Including paint and panel gaps. I have rapid red (metallic) that I paid a premium for and there's a cloudy/foggy circle on the hood.

I don't think anyone has stats on that.
Both should not have a major issues.

Just tell your dealer not to detail it that's were the most damage gets done most times.

And you or your detailer can wash it correctly.

But yeah just get the color you like more
