Our S650 HP compared to the C8.

What vehicle is that engine in? Sounds supercharged to me.
The C8 Z06….it’s a naturally aspirated, flat plane crank engine that redlines at 8,500 RPM. GM claims it’s the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine ever built. Feedback is that it’s better suited for a track environment over street use as you have to wind it up tight to get it really moving.

The C8 has one thing the 5.0 doesn’t have……..low end TORQUE and lots of it.
- coming from a Dark Horse owner and C8 owner.

Serious question for you! Since you have both awesome rides am I making a serious mistake trading my 23 c8 z51 HTC for a 2025 manual nonHP DH? Funny thing I traded a 21 hp Mach 1 for the c8 1 yr ago 4th of July...lol. Anyway the deal is very good $7500 discount and trade appraisal on my C8 seems too good to pass up. Thanks!

Side note...I was actually looking for another GT350 since I use to own one too specifically a HEP but they are just too expensive now.

The best answer I can give and it sounds like a cop-out but it is not. They are different cars.
If you are one of those guys that has to shift a 6spd DH is the answer. I would never buy a 6spd over an A10 just because they lose to an A10 everytime.
If you liked and miss the Mach 1 you will love the DH. I call the 7th gen the S550.2 as they fixed just about everything on the S550. I could tell you everything great about the C8 but you know that already.

To me the difference was do you want to go fast or go fast and carry luggage?

I like taking road trips. With the C8 you're going to have to strap suitcases to the roof and look like the Beverly Hillbilly.

Couldn’t be further from the truth. While luggage can be a “puzzle” it is not out of the question.

I will just accept your ignorance.
My son and I just got done doing the whole Hot Rod Power Tour- that a big enough road trip?

You're not taking a woman to the Florida Keys for 2 weeks in that thimble sized frunk.

Can you even fit one standard sized suitcase in there? Let alone 2 plus 2 carry ons? Souvenirs? Yeah that's not a car made for road trips.

I’d fly down and rent a convertible

Then you'll miss out on Gatlinburg, Tail of the dragon, Disney, and South Beach. That's kind of the fun of the road trip. All the stops in between.
I’d drive the C8 there.

@Germansheperd ..... thank you for the side-by-side picture. It 100% confirms why I bought the Mustang and money had nothing to do with it. I want a real muscle car, aka a pony car not something that looks like a misplaced child's transformer toy. I never look at late model vettes that I see while driving around but 90% of the 'vette drivers look at my 2024 GT vapor blue convertible with space gray sets and up-graded rims. Ha Ha....Just sayin'. BTW this is a Mustang forum not a kid's toy car forum ..... but I will wave back at vette owners who wave to me. I mean there should be a "little" respect for vette owners. But - just a little!
Transformer? Kinda like this?😜 Just like the Corvette and Mustang I own, both are pretty cool looking IMO. Welcome to the transformer family MAT1995!

Is that the mystic red? If so, I have the same color and I thought I would never own another red car until this one . The convertible is an added bonus but too damn hot to use for now ..lol.

So let me ask you this. If you had to get rid of one car which car would you get rid of Dh or c8? Thanks!

From someone who has driven the Tail of the Dragon on both a C8 & Mustang GT… either one will be a blast!

Hard side suitcases are not well suited for the C8’s frunk & trunk. But if you’re using luggage similar to a duffle bag style you can fit quite a bit in one. Just make sure you put your lady’s makeup bag in the frunk due to the engine heat transfer to the trunk. A two week trip to anywhere with my wife would require us driving her BMW X5.

That’s a tough decision! While I don’t own a DH, I do own a GT. To me it comes down to the choice between the handling characteristics of a mid-engine layout versus front engine/rear wheel drive. Which one do you prefer? I guess I’m greedy…I do appreciate and enjoy both.
