@Doug Watson ..... very sorry you have to go through this but really, really happy with Ford's response. I knew all along the engine was defective and hoped Ford would respond. In a while this will just be a bad memory and you will have a brand new engine! :cool:

Thanks for the kind words. I was hoping they would replace the passenger side cat because of all the black soot coming out of the exhaust but the service advisor said unless it's throwing a code they can't.

@Doug Watson ..... you have a lengthy warranty. If the cat has been damaged it should show in plenty of time. The cats are pretty robust and tend to destroy (powerdize) any impurities and shoot them out the exhaust. I think you'll be fine - but - just in case have you made a formal note of your concern? If you are still concerned you could thank the dealership for their support and say you're worried about the cat - would they note that concern on a service order.....maybe get them to do that at your next oil change, just write your concern as a line item on the service order for the oil change and anything else you may have done at the time. Then you would have an official, dated Ford Service record -or - you could call Ford Customer Service, thank them for their support and ask for a case number regarding the cat. Pretty sure the cat will be fine but you have good options for your peace of mind.

When they replace the engine I'll have them note the cat concern.

@Doug Watson ....BTW - on the bright side of things, you get to re-do your engine "break-in" a second time .....anything you think you might have done different/better you have a second chance!

I checked my oil level today and it’s on the low level (bottom dot of the stick) and it’s been 6,500 miles. 2024 Mustang GT 6 speed. Not sure if this is normal. I drive it normally with the occasional pull or two every week.

Check your oil level after running the engine for 15 minutes or after driving and then let sit for 15. Ford recommendation for these engines.

@kinelisch ..... IF your oil was originally at the proper level and IF you aren't beating the crap out of your engine then NO it's NOT normal to burn, what - almost a pint of oil in that space of time. I have had three Mustangs and none of them burned oil. My 2024 GT burns nothing at all - as it shouldn't!
