Engine Oil Leak Issue

Hello Community,

I went today to change the engine oil at a workshop and they caught engine oil leaking (mechanic told me it is crankshaft related but i am not sure), i will take it to the dealer tomorrow. Is it possible to identify the issue from the attached photos?

Car is running at 27500 kilometers.

It's difficult to tell anything from the photos. Two things I can think of:

- Valve Cover Gaskets. Valve covers can be torqued down unevenly at the factory or simply loosen up. Ask the dealer to check the valve cover on each side. Using a simple hand ratchet and modest pressure, attempt to tighten each and all cover bolts, to confirm they are snug. Look around the entire cover on each side to see if there are signs of fresh oil which may be dripping down

- With the Coyote engine and the under car belly pan, oil filters can be a struggle to remove without spilling oil on some of the assemblies. Sometimes if oil is spilt, later, that oil will cascade back towards the back of the engine, suspension and belly pan

If nothing obvious can be determined at the next appointment, ask the dealer to open a trouble ticket, clean the area as best possible, and continue to monitor the situation. It may take some additional observation to confirm what's actually at fault.

Hello everyone, just a quick update on the car:

The engine oil leak was caused by a failed front crankshaft seal, which was replaced under warranty.

The repair took 19 days until I was finally able to drive it again, but on the bright side, I got to experience a 2020 F-150 Raptor as a loaner — and honestly, that part was pretty fun
