Well, I dropped off my car this morning to get full PPF put on it and tint all the way around. It will be gone for 5-7 days. Came back and worked from home all day. Went to take the trash out this evening and saw an oil spot in the driveway about 8 inches in diameter. I assumed it was transmission fluid, but it was hard to tell as it had spread all the way out and not enough standing oil to get it on your finger for color. Took a paper towel and stood on it for a bit. It was golden in color so we now know it to be engine oil. As I think back about it, I washed my car Saturday morning and had a good amount of dust on the back tail of the car this morning. Didn't think it was oil leak related and took it as part of the diffuser and spoiler design creating dust on the back end. Now I know better.

From where it is at on the driveway it could be from the front of rear of the engine. I park on the same side of the driveway, but sometimes a bit forward and sometimes a bit backwards.

Now I am eager to get car back , only to drop it back off at the dealer. :cwl:

No mods on the car. 369 miles.

After you park the car, put a fresh piece of cardboard under it in the appropriate places. I would suggest one for the front of the car under the oil and tranny pan and one in the back under the differential. Lighter color cardboard is best but any will work. Also make sure to take a pic of the stains to show to the dealership. Best wishes !

Yep, good idea. I will have to park it in the garage. The driveway has a slope to it. And we are covered for cardboard expenses. My wife has a cardboard sponsor. Amazon.

Could be a filter or drain plug somebody didn't tighten. The good thing is with a new car it will be easy to find the leak as the only oil will be from the leak. Old oil leaker you need to clean the engine and transmission before you can see much of anything.

I was thinking I might get a call about the car leaking on the floor of the PPF shop. Got that call this morning. They sent me a pic. I appreciated them reaching out. Their customer service is the reason I choose to do business with them in the first place. They called first, then said they were sending over a pic. Wanted to know if I wanted them to continue forward with the PPF and tint at this time or not. I chose to move forward.

Moving back over to the pic. Drove it approx. 15 miles to their shop and parked it. I'm sure they moved it a few times. Assuming this is from around 16 hours of sitting overnight. If I can keep from going by and looking at it myself, I will be showing up with a few quarts of oil in hand before I leave to take it to the dealer. Only thing I have to scale this leak is the tire marks and the one foot print in the top left of the pic. That isn't a small oil leak. Hopefully it is an easy fix, in and out when the time comes.

Like most of us on here, I couldn't stand it much longer after my last post. So I called Automotive Film Specialist (AFS) to see if they were ok with me coming down to take a look at the car and the leak while they were working on the car. No problem they said. So I packed up and headed down to AFS where my car was already on a lift. They couldn't have been more courteous and being on a lift couldn't have been more convenient. First things first, it was still leaking oil since they cleaned it up this morning. I looked up at the undercarriage of the car expecting to find quite a mess with oil everywhere. That wasn't the case. Right in front of me was a drip coming from the oil drain plug. I honestly dismissed that and started looking for the source. I am thinking, there is no way this is the source of the leak on a new car. also it wasn't leaking when I picked it up (that I know of or can tell). With the help of a flashlight, I quickly deducted that the drain plug was actually the source. Took a socket and turned the drain plug very gingerly assuming it might be over tightened. Nope, it was loose. It turned approx. a 1/3rd of a turn easily till it snugged up. This should resolve the issue, but only time will tell. At least my sanity is in check for the next few days till I pick her back up.

I will take a quart of oil and a funnel with me when I pick her up, just in case. I assume the car has leaked 1/4 to 1/2 a quart since it started.

The moral of the story is, check the obvious if you start having an oil leak on your Mustang.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mustang concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
