First off guys stop listening/responing to Matt (@shogun32 ) He just like to stir the pot. :giggle:
hey now, this is a rant thread and fair game. I consider the Black package one of the all-time dumbest. But I was also providing solutions. I may be "trouble" with one hand, but I also try to dish out "helpful" where I can.

Meh , they really didnt give anybody a set day they would arriveā€¦ and it is a new model.. Some setbacks are to be expected imo.

And I love the look of the nite pony pack. Def worth an extra stop to get it factory done/looking instead of DIY on your brand new car.

omeone mentioned that it could be that the roof panels are painted separately and installed after the rest of the car is painted
scratch the black roof and you'll see the body color underneath. The entire body is painted in one go. The black roof is a re-finish operation just like painted stripes are. The body has to be masked off and and a much smaller paint shop handles the deed, not the automated paint shop.

They do the same rework operation order at F150 plants.

Secondly @Bethstang, there is nothing wrong with venting but being proactive might get you further. How many conversations have you had with your dealer? If you haven't gotten an answer from them then the answer to my question is "not enough". You need to hound then until you get an answer. Also how many times have you called Ford? Maybe there is an issue, maybe not but you have to get an answer. Push, push, push until you do do.

Lastly, make sure you get exactly what you want. As you are custom ordering your car not doing so will cause you to have buyers remorse for as long as you own it. You can trust me on that one.
Pushing your dealer/salesman isn't going to get you a black painted roof Mustang any faster. From experience (as recent as today) talking to Ford, via Fordchat, gets you no where. All they do is refer you to your dealer for "updates" and give you the link for the tracker, that only is relevant IF you have a VIN.

I have posted plenty here about my frustration on this topic, as I am waiting as well. I came to the realization that we aren't gonna make Ford or Flat Rock move any faster. I WILL say that the lack of communication from Ford is what really is frustrating. If we didn't have this forum, we'd likely have zero clue as to what the hold ups and issues are. For that, I am thankful to be here.

My dealership specifically advised that I don't get the NPP because it can lead to delays, and suggested I just get a wrap on the roof instead. I took his advise, ordered April 9, received a VIN the following week, car was built last week, and delivery is scheduled for July 10-14

Touche. But these guys do not know you. I thought a fair warning was called for before they tore your head off. :cwl:

I hear you and you are not wrong.....But he's looking for something, anything and he deserves that. Maybe, just maybe if he pushes an answer will be forthcoming. It's doubtful it will be an answer that he will like but it will be something.

I honestly thought we had a good resource here with "FORD" on the forum. Like, talk enough here, and they will see it type a thing. Sadly, the lights are on, they answer when you knock, but they have no information beyond what we already know.

If I wasnā€™t driving a Model Y Performance I definitely wouldā€™ve considered removing NP šŸ¤£

Thatā€™s my main issue, no communication and why did some get scheduled when Ford said several weeks ago no black painted roofs šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Iā€™ve got Nite Pony on a shadow black car. I love blacked-out cars. Living in Utah, itā€™s gonna cook me alive during the summer, but thatā€™s the price I pay for a sexy car.

im curious why the black roof is holding back all the Nite Pony pkg cars. Especially with black paint being so abundant, and the plant not having an issue painting the full car black.

Someone mentioned that it could be that the roof panels are painted separately and installed after the rest of the car is painted. I can definitely see that being possible, but if they can paint the full car, why canā€™t they paint roof panels? If theyā€™re short on roof panels, why arenā€™t all the hardtops delayed?

Im half certain thereā€™s another piece thatā€™s in short supply and the plant notes simply list the roof instead of whatever else it is. I donā€™t work at the plant, so I have no clue whatā€™s going through their minds over there.
Ceramic tint will help with the heat

The "Ford" on this forum is most likely some marketing intern who has no connection with the production department at all and would have no idea why FRAP is delayed.

But that doesn't stop people from asking them questions like they're talking to Henry Ford directly šŸ˜‚

It will. Itā€™s gonna be one of the first things done to the car upon delivery
Same. Already have deposit down for that, PPF front bumper, and ceramic coat. It will all be put on around the first week of having it. Only problem is it's gonna take 4-5 days šŸ˜
