Frank 60th: Nice! You installed the same center speaker as I did and mounted the same way. A year later, that 3M tape is holding strong! It better, 3M tape also holds on my louvers, front splitter, spoiler and blackout panel!

I'm sure between that and the sub, you noticed a MASSIVE improvement!

Thanks for sharing!

The difference is amazing!!! For about $200 all in for both speakers with connectors, foam tape, polyfill, sub harnes, 3M... I can't believe the difference! This is a mustang do for anyone with a S550 or S650 with B&O.

Glad it worked out for you! As of now, I am also very happy with the sound system. Can it be better? Yeah, but for just swapping 2 speakers, it's a big improvement.

Yes, I did that last week and it certainly helped with the quality of the audio!
So... Woofersetc.com sent me the DD SW10A-D4 with the "Redline" dust cover even though it was advertised with the "DD" dust cover. Same exact speaker, just a cosmetic difference. I did contact them and they sent me a bunch of stickers and 2 license plate frames, which was very nice. So... here is the final product. I kinda like it!

Mine arrived last week and is the same as yours with the Redline labeled dust cover. It doesn't bother me as long as it sounds good. Should be installing in a couple of days.

Unrelated question.

What trunk floor mat/cargo tray is that?

I think this is a great option to look into. My question is how bad are yours guys B&O systems? I have a darkhorse with the B&O and I'm not trying to dismiss what you guys are saying but mine sounds pretty dam good stock?!. Honestly I don't think it could be much better than it is with the power that's available. The bass on mine is pretty good for stock sound system also center, sides and rears are just fine. Just last night I went for a night cruise along the coast here and it was jamming. I even remembered specifically the forums about the BO system and thought this is sounding pretty tight.? Maybe im just getting old 😕 LOL.

I am not much of an audiophile, but sometimes songs I like I do not even recognize at first on my B&O system.

So... my last car was an Audi A4 s-line. I replaced the door speakers with JBL's and put in a 300w powered Rockford Fosgate sub with an LC2i line control. The stereo was AMAZING! Before that, Jeep Wrangler Sahara with the Alpine upgrade. Another awesome stereo. Fast forward to the B&olufsen in the Mustang and I felt that most of the low end in songs I've listened to for years was simply no longer there. The stock B&O subwoofer drops off at 60htz. Add the DD Redline and "magically" the low notes are back. New sub goes down to 35htz and with polyfil can drop to 30htz. I do like to hear and feel the low notes, so if that is not your thing, then the B&O is probably just fine, which is great! If you are like me and need the lows to be present and pronounced, then the sub replacement is a must. It truly is personal preference. I will add that the build quality on the stock sub is not good. See pick for actual comparison. Both 10", 4ohm speakers.

OK, I installed the new sub today. Took 15 minutes. The sub has twin sets of 4 ohm spade connectors. It mounts using 8 screws vs. the 6 Pioneer screws. I just drilled 8 new holes in the box and found 2 more screws. Size-wise it's a perfect drop-in.

I highly recommend this sub. Only $49 at Amazon. Others who got the DD sub probably got a big improvement I'm sure as it also has an 86 db sensitivity.

At this point on the stock amp, I would NOT recommend the Pioneer sub.

Live and learn....
Im assuming you know, but you never touch on it..
With the dual 4ohm voice coils..
Theres 2 ways to wire the sub which changes its performance & puts more stress on the amp depending if it can handle it or not.
Does anyone know the ohm specs on the stock sub speaker in this scenario?

A dual 4 ohm speaker can be wired in either 8 ohm or 2 ohm load,
depending on how you feed the wires through all the voice coil connections.

If you run it at 2ohms, it will be louder, if the amp can handle it.

I have no idea if it can or cant...
Just when it comes to subs, amps, etc, ohm load is important.

From my understanding theres no running that single sub at a 4ohm load.
