so the entire chassis has been wholesale replaced with mandrel drawn tubing...
It's a Mustang "because we said so".

If even just the basic elements of that front design, the fender treatment (not even the extractors above the front fenders) and rear come into play on an actually-special above-GT trim, I'll put my money where my mouth is and order one sight-unseen.

This thing is so sexy. Way nicer than the turnkey GT4 they previously offered.

Is that a surprise tho?

It's not like this isn't a common thing in race class cars that are linked in some way to road going ones lol

This is the weakest troll I've ever seen.

So, the clay model they're working on here appears to be slightly different. Not sure if this was an alternative proposal for the race car, or if it hints at what the road car will look like.

I hope it's the former and not the latter. That definitely looks like function over form.

Jim Farley said on Twitter "Should we make a road going version?" Questions like that coming from a CEO are almost always rhetorical.
I'm pretty sure test mule shots of it have been spotted.

What makes that look like a street version?
Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The race car in the video has Goodyear DH slicks on it. This on the left is same wheel but with a Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires. We can assume that street tire mean street car considering how classes in racing are based on the tires. Also I'm guessing that they still will need to do a bunch of street cars with the 5.4L to homologate the car and engine for Le Mans.

Why would they cover most of it up, and only tease a very small portion of it if that wasn't the road car? If it was the race car, why would they still be trying to tease and hide it in a reveal video for the race car?

I like to disassemble things.
There's an SHW rotor beneath those wheels as well.

I believe you are looking at over a quarter of a million dollars for the full zoot GT3 street car. This isn't going to be easy to come by as some may have been thinking.

Yeah I'm thinking it'll be around GT3 RS prices if it truly is a GT3 car for the road.

If it's just a 350R successor with a big wing and fender flares then it'll prob go for around $100k.
