If it was sleek and sporty like a panamera/Taycan I’d totally be interested. Especially if it came with the 3.0 eco or 5.0

Admittedly I was one of those people... šŸ˜…

The teaser had specified that it was going to be a Mustang GT, and while I hadn't voiced that concern I figured there was no way it would be a sedan. But now this is a direct slap in the face from Ford with a reminder to keep an open mind.
No harm no foul, admittedly, it was wild speculation on my part, so I don't blame people for being sceptical. Hell, I am to an extent šŸ˜†. We'll see if we get anything new tomorrow, it's a 50/50 imo.

just asked my sales manager about this. this meeting in vegas was over a week ago and Ford had collected everyone's phones, so you will never see pictures of the event. some things revealed: Mustang Mach 4 is real and a real-life prototype was displayed, described as a Porsche Panamera-like vehicle with 4 doors and a higher ride height. it also has no door handles and is push button open only like the Mach-E. the Transit Connect is coming back, built on the Maverick chassis and can be gotten with the 2.5L Hybrid. there is also a new trim of the Bronco coming out, apparently looks a lot like the heritage but with a blue roof. the Mach 4 is real, and it is coming
Ask him if the styling is basically a stretched s650 or an all new shape. He saw it first hand, so he should know.

i remember him describing it as a sort of mix of the 2-door coupe stretched and Mach-E

I think having the coupe front and side/rear profile with Mach-E tail-lights would look nice.

Not really the same thing.

They already did it like Porsche with a Bronco, Falcon, Raptor and GT. Porsche doesn’t make a 911 4 door, EV Crossover and so on because it’s a nameplate with a certain ethos. They make a Panemara, Taycan, Macan, and Cayenne that embody some of the spirit but are for their given purpose. lol
facts.
It’s unbelievable how people don’t get that and somehow think Ford’s idiocy is comparable to a well thought out suite of DIFFERENT NSMEPLATE vehicles to fulfill certain needs/desires. And here’s Ford in the corner, picking its nose and thinking that calling everything a Mustang will somehow magically help.

Mach 4 does sound like a AWD system. Lol

Honestly has there ever been a Nameplate turned into a brand like that though? From a performance perspective.
mach 4 being about the number of doors versus how fast the thing is - is the dumbest branding idea in the history of dumb branding ideas. Whoever the flavor of the month is that’s pushing this crap needs to be fired.

a ā€œdoor factoryā€ Mustang. That just sucks.
if dodge wanted to resurrect an old, unused nameplate and do something different, fine. They still had the challenger. But this isn’t Dodge. This is the Ford Mustang - the definition of pony car. This isn’t some old dead nameplate. It’s the most successful and current champ of pony cars throughout history. And now it’s getting turned into a Buick.

so much nonsense the days. Can’t wait for this phase in human history to be in the rear view mirror.

The mental gymnastics is crazy. At first I thought I was going crazy but comments on Instagram and Ford Authority reassured me that I’m in my right mind šŸ˜‚

Supposedly Chevy is considering doing the same thing with the Camaro and Corvette.
