@BoostRabbitGT looks like you're getting your car.
Lol, I have to see prices first before I get too excited.

Also, missed opportunity to call it the Mustang Gran Torino if they're that serious about making Mustang a brand. Mach-4 (if that's what they end up calling it) just makes me think that the vehicle in question has AWD as opposed to being a sedan.

Mach 4 does sound like a AWD system. Lol

Honestly has there ever been a Nameplate turned into a brand like that though? From a performance perspective.

Porsche. Building their own version of the Miata saved the company. The Boxster, and later Cayenne and Macan, are the reason we still have the 911.

They aren’t called the 911 though, the Porsche reference will never make sense in the context people are trying to use it in.
Mustang is the "Porsche" sub-brand of Ford. Besides, "let's sell fewer units to maintain the purity of a dying nameplate" is a non-starter for corporate. They called the Edge EV a "Mustang", of course a hybrid sedan will be a "Mustang" (just add obligatory sequential turn signals and pony badge).

It’s not even a brand per se yet outside of the regular Mustang and all its variants and the Mach E which isn’t this knockout that Ford thought.

Like I said a 4 door sedan isn’t bad, I don’t mind a Baja Mustang. I just don’t understand why it needs the Mustang name. Ford made some pretty awesome 4 door cars.

but it is what it is, the Mach 4 is going to happen regardless. Happy the Mustang is still around and can be mentioned with something (history wise) as the 911

I wonder if the mach 4 will be based on the looks of the s650.

I'm sure it's to compete with the new two door or four door charger so dodge doesn't have that market for themselves.

Going by what Farley said before, it will be performance oriented. So using the mustang nameplate isn't bad if the mustang nameplate stays performance oriented.

It also gives them opportunities to try out new things to see what sticks, like an off road mustang, and an AWD mustang... Maybe in the future a mid engine mustang in a different price bracket... There could also be an electric performance mustang, all while still keeping the rear wheel drive V8 fastback mustang šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

A mustang is a performance car. A bronco is a performance off road SUV.
Bronco was originally made to be a SUV Mustang though wasn’t it, Farley and many others have brought it up a lot, along with the fact it was approved on the same day.

They could’ve done that without the name though which is why sometimes I side eye Farley’s comments. This 4 door car will probably perform similar to the Aussie Falcon from 2014. I only bring that car up a lot because that’s the recent performance model that fits this ā€œ4 door Mustangā€ thing.

they could’ve done regardless though. I’m one of those people that wants to see a mid engine Mustang since it’s been experimented with in concept form and with the Boss 429.

A bronco is a bronco, and a mustang is a mustang. I don't really understand what you're getting at. They came out with an off road SUV and called it a bronco. They have a performance car and call it a mustang.

No, if you're making a lot of performance car variants, it's best to have them under one brand so the consumer knows its performance oriented. And as a company you get to tout how many you sold (added together).
