I installed the Steeda full length jacking rails on my car today, and was very impressed with the quality and fit. They are heavy and sturdy pieces, and I'm wondering if they aerve any additional purpose by stiffening the chassis? They look a lot like bolt on subframe connectors.
Any ideas?

I agree with you, but don’t have data to support it!

I doubt it. They are along the likely strongest part of the frame. Steeda might have looked into this more.

I've only had my car on a lift once, and when I installed the rails, I could see the pinch weld was scarred in several places. I touched it up, and think the rails will be useful.

I had a problem with the front bolts under the insulation. When the first finally broke free it just spins in place. I sprayed with penetrating oil but have not tried to break the others yet.

While not a primary purpose of the jacking rails, anything like this is going to stiffen up the chassis. Common sense tells us that.

Probably won't do too much if they are just bolt-in and a single straight piece.

That certainly is one assumption. No, they won't work AS well as, say, a torque box brace or frame rail, but I bet they do increase rigidity at least somewhat.

Yeah, when installing these you can see there is no chassis stiffening from their point of contact and placement. Only benefit is easily jacking up the vehicle.

Did you install the front part of the rails on top of or under the "cross member" that is now on the S650 and serves as a support for the splash panels. Installing on top of thecross member causes the front part of the jacking rail lower than at the rear by about 3/16".

My car is a November '23 build, I don't recall seeing anything like that under there. I did have to trim the fiber undercar shield so that the rail sat flush.

On your Mustang, does the front part of the jacking rail sit further down below the pinch weld than it does on the rear of the jacking rail?

No, it barely sticks down below the pinch weld at the same level front to rear. I had to trim seam sealer that kept it from being even at one place though.

Does anyone know the Steeda Part for the jacking rails that will fit a 24 DH Premium?
