After a mild accident I got my 2025 GT premium inspected at a ford dealership to make sure the pre collision/pedestrian auto brake feature was still functioning. As it turns out I never had it to begin with, evidently the sensors required for such a system aren't even present. Which brings me to my question did the dealership I bought the car from lie/make a mistake about what it came with? I have attached the inspection report and window sticker below so those more knowledgable than I can take a look. I thought the auto brake came standard on all 2025 mustangs, let alone one that supposedly has the safety package. I'm more than a little confused about this situation especially since I have togglable settings for the sensitivity of the auto brake and pre collision warning(despite neither ever going off). I just want to make sure I got what I payed for. Please let me know if I'm confused or if there are grounds for a fraud case here. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help a stranger, all is much appreciated.

My 25 Ecoboost Premium has the same co-pilot 360 assist+ package. I have the collision avoidance system and adaptive cruise, but no front parking sensors. So there's nothing to stop you from a low speed collision.

Fraud case, no. Ford makes it clear in web pages and documentation that, while the features are a Ford product, they are not necessarily available in every model, every trim level. It depends.

Confusion, yes. Ford is not clear in what vehicles have features like these, almost any model year. It's similar to software companies offering (or removing) application options with each revision.

The link above gives a good breakdown of what Pilot 360 is, but displayed web pages have small notes at the bottom, mentioning feature A or B might or might not be available on certain models.

Having on-screen menu functions without feature alarms telling you something is wrong (uh, where'd my physical module go?) is puzzling. You'd think the car would alarm in fault the day it came off the assembly line. I don't have an answer for that.

You can return to the previous dealer and ask for a deeper walk-through or go to a new dealer.

Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) software, used at every dealership, can determine what modules are supposed to be installed, if they are present and if they are communicating correctly. The tech simply hocks up to the car and queries all available modules. Any vehicle interrogation takes only moments. The tech could display the screen for you, pick through all the bits and show you what's there.

If the first dealer's explanation is correct, ask the one using FDRS how the feature can be enabled in the driver menus without the car alarming. I'd be interested in the answer. Take screen shots, if possible.

There is a forward facing camera, too high to be used for curb detection and not open for customer usage but rather system functions.

AFAIK the pedestrian/collision avoidance works off of the camera, not sensors. It also does not function at parking lot speeds, which is likely what you were at when you hit the wall.

If your car has the settings, then you have the feature.

The vehicle has the collision assist ect. It has what it's supposed to have. It's just that it will not stop vehicle if you bump into wall that's already very close to front of vehicle and moving under 5 miles hours or whatever the min default is. That's my educated guess.
Unfortunately I think you will have to claim it on your insurance or pay out of pocket.
I'm sorry for your trouble Fluffy57.

Thank you for your in depth response. I'll be sure to go to my local dealership and have FDRS run. Either something is up with the software or I'm an incredible driver, and based on me hitting my garage, I don't think its the latter.

Thank you for your empathy. Unfortunately the consensus appears to agree with your assessment.

I'm surprised the ford dealership didn't know that but seeing as the camera is used for my drivers assist, it makes sense it would be used for the pedestrian auto brake as well. Thank you for your response.

The dealers sales staff deals with many different cars, so the info they give you may or may not be correct. Read the manual to see how all the systems work, and their limitations.

Although that is a catch-22 since the manual (if not familiar with ford app - formally fordpass) is in the infotainment system.

An entire section is dedicated to pre-collision assist. Attached is an excerpt.

The feature/s used both the camera and the radar sensor.

Pre-collision assist is active at 3 mph/5 kph and higher.

There are adjustments the driver can make and limits of the system. The manual explains those in detail. Could be worthwhile to jot notes.

The manual is also available in pdf format... either from Ford or right here on 7G.

Previously the only assumption was one could read now tech is assumed. Sure isn’t the same as having a printed owners manual in the glove box.
