What about telling Ford their bolt was too weak and snapped when refitting it? Seems like a faulty bolt to me.
I don't know what happened... it just fell off!

When they're going in hard, it's the backing out that usually ends up breaking them.

So, when they say to try an EZ-Out, don't!

The bolt itself, is hard enough. You do not want to drill through tool hardening.
I don't know why. I've done it several times without issue.

Personally I’ve never had very good luck with ez-outs. Sometimes they will work fairly well for a bolt that broke after being correctly installed, but for something that is most likely cross threaded and broke because it was over torqued trying to put it in or get it out; an ez-out is probably going to break as well. YMMV though.

Weld a large nut to It filling in the center. If it breaks do it again and again. It will eventually come out.

Great advice from above. .....IF IF IF what is already threaded is sufficient to hold - you could try putting a washer and a nut on the treaded portion sticking out. IF IF IF you just sheared to top (nut) off the bolt and didn't stretch it, thereby weakening it, you might be able to work a nut on. TO TEST: IF you get a washer and nut on there and can tighten it decently then you can use use a torque wrench to tighten it to oem spec. IF IF IF it will tighten it to the original bolt's oem spec you MAY have dodged a bullet.

I guess it depends on the quality of the easy outs too. I wouldn't trust Temu express

Guys,
He's already indicated he's in over his head. Best for him to get the car to someone with the tools and knowledge to remove it.

@Lou G,
Indeed we have. I mentioned it (easy out) right before you did. So we are both of the same mindset 😃, but it sounds like it's above the OPs comfort level.

Cheers,

Cheers,
Honestly with the quotes I am getting from dealerships I can see they dont want to do it so they are giving me “f off” quotes. I’ve checked with a few local shops which are of course lower cost but day by day I feel like I might want to try easy outs myself.

The replacement bolt is not available at any dealership in my city so I gotta order and wait for it for a week or so anyway.

Any easyouts ya’ll recommend that wont break?

Can you beg, borrow or steal from anyone with tools? Otherwise go name brand.
Any recommendations? I believe these are grade 8 bolts.
