Recently while browsing on another S650 forum, I came across a post describing what would appear to be a "design flaw" on at least the 2024 S560s. The post described and pictured "holes" in the fender liners ( both sides) directly behind the front wheels. The post went on to show the actual debris ( gravel, dirt, etc.) which had collected within the cavity in the area of the rocker panels. Of course, I felt compelled to examine my 2024 and sure enough there were two 2" X 2" holes in the liners that almost appeared as if they had been "cut" at the factory. Without remedy, there is little doubt that these would end being corrosion magnets.

I have set up an appointment with my Ford dealer for them to start a file on the issue in order to see exactly what Ford will do. The problem has existed with the S650s for so long that there are already companies out there selling fixes ( see DIYVAN.COM for an example). It would be advisable to inspect your '24 and probably '25 S650 to take preventative action. Not too difficult, simply get down and look behind the wheels. Stevie Wonder could see them. I intend to follow up after the dealer inspection for further guidance.

@MORIDER ..... several years of discussion on this topic across multiple forums. I used the DIYvan.com patches. They are super easy to install, virtually invisible after a couple of weeks driving and do not interfere with the removal of the fender liners. Ford has now recognized this flaw and is apparently offering their version of the kit. I have read that in the opinion of one poster that the Ford kit did not fit as well as the DIYvan kit and did not attach as well - and - might possibly have to be removed to remove the fender liner. I recommend the kit from DIYvan.com.

Ford has apparently fixed this problem on newer deliveries. Mine doesn't have the holes and was delivered to me in mid-May. I have seen some pretty good "covers" out there to address this problem. I was concerned about it until mine came in with no holes in the liner. Good luck in getting things cleaned out and the holes covered. This should have never happened.

It will be interesting to gauge the dealer's reaction. On the phone the advisor sounded as if they had never heard of the issue before. We shall see.

I didn't mention this in any of the previous threads... I 'fixed' mine by installing mud flaps. This begs the question, can debris get behind the flaps? No!

Recent 2025's appear like below. One part number is PR3Z16103 (and PR3Z16102) for the entire fender liner with MANY revisions.

Ford will not do anything about it and will gaslight you. Unless you want to leave the car for a month while they diagnose it and find nothing wrong. Ideally you should be able to get fender liner replacements without the hole and re-install it.

In practice, there are several solutions to fixing it, including the kit that can repair the hole, frequently mentioned here. I installed 2 patches out of a floor mat and it's been fine for a year and a half.

Ford does not have a TSB for this, so it's a design flaw by design.

The holes were an error - made obvious by the fact Ford fixed them. The JB Weld is not messy if you have any skill at all and completely seals-off the area eliminating water, salt, dirt etc. from getting all down the interior frame and belly pans causing serious damage. Unlikely Ford will issue a TSB as they already have created a part. Big kudos to Tony Unica for posting the original issue waaay back and Hein at DIYvan.com for manufacturing the best repair kit and shame on Ford for not offering all owners with this design error a free kit. Only cost me $100 from Hein but for that pittance of a price my 'stang is now protected.
