As a follow up, while driving home on the highway at 70 mph, 75F ambient, it held solid at 233F which is the first time I have ever seen my oil temp go over 230.
Interesting. Have you checked you fluid levels? Any obstructions in the air filters?

Coolant level good, oil level good, verified that the front grill louvers are open, fan is operational, air filters appear in good shape (have about 5k miles on them), and front grill path to filter is clear.

A good oil is supposed to handle up to 500˚, so I would agree with the dealer that anything under 250˚ is fine. Burn off all that vapor…lol.

Coolant temp would be more important to me than seeing oil temps slightly rising and falling with the drive. I drove watching oil temp gages, and it seemed completely random why it rose and fell in temp.
This is spot on. Oil needs to be above the boiling point of water to evaporate contaminants. Every car I've had with an oil temp gauge has been over 100C when at normal water temps.

Agreed. Not sure why people trip out when they see it over 200F or 220F.

That said, the OP is running temps higher than me right now. And live on the surface of the sun. I still don't think 230 is concerning on its own, but he says it's suddenly much higher than normal...IDK what to make of that. 🤔

Correct, the actual temp of 220 to 230 isn't my concern, its the overnight 20F offset that concerns me.

My honest assumption is that the temp increase isn't real. The update messed with the algorithm calculation on purpose or on accident. There is nothing else but this calculation that would indicate a temperature problem.

Ima see if Ford dealer will revert back to the previous SW and see if the 20F offset follows the SW update or not.

Which update was this? Was there a description and number?

My 10-speed auto 24 GT Premium (non PP) oil temps run 231 to 233 during normal 80mph driving on the highway in 80–90-degree weather. If I floor it for a quick few runs, it jumps to 248 up to 250 max. Cools off quick (back to 228 to 233) when returning to normal hwy cruising speeds. I was told 230 to 260 is normal oil temps for spirited driving. I've never seen mine hit 260 though. I'm scheduled for a software update tonight too.

That is basically how mine is behaving now, wasn't the case before the update. I also am 24 GT non PP.

What's weird is that I feel my temps started running a few degrees hotter once I switched from normal oil to full synthetic. I feel that my temps started running 5 degrees hotter than previously. My car runs strong though, no complaints. This coyote motor runs hot!

Seriously ... if you're going to compare oil temps, you need to also mention AC status. It matters.
