Ford also brought an early prototype of a four-door Mustang onto the stage, giving dealers the clearest view yet of a product first revealed at a 2024 meeting and reported by Automotive News. Multiple people who saw the prototype likened its size and design to a Porsche Panamera.

"Executives promised that the four-door Mustang would have a price tag of less than $40,000, a 0-to-60 mph time of under 4 seconds and more rear-seat space than the Panamera, according to two of the people. Ford did not discuss a name at the meeting but previously has identified it to dealers as the Mach-4."

Someone I know went and said people chuckled a little.

they put a lot of effort into the EV Fathom, Maverick, etc. then when it comes to a sedan it’s like a afterthought.

I think a hybrid V8 awd 4 door sedan could be an amazing car for Ford. However calling it a Mustang is not right and I'll be 100% honest... I do NOT trust Ford to build anything right now. Their quality is in the dumps.

I'll update my opinion, as more articles/blurbs are beginning to follow suit.

It seems the one new, and more importantly consistent, chunk of information that's following is that the car is supposedly going to be released in 2029. With some of the other things I've heard in the last few weeks, I think this might make it a bit more credible.

I still maintain that I'm going to wait until I see mules to truly believe in this car's existence.

Mustang, like the F150 nameplate IS Ford. I think a 4-door Mustang could be a seller. Rumor says it's called a Mach4. OK. I'm thinking a nice-performing sport sedan, much like the European vehicles; the Porsche 4-door comes to mind.

Imagine a 4-door sport sedan that looks like a Mustang, uses EcoBoost engines, and also offers a V8. They may have a winner on their hand.

That was a thing I harped on awhile ago. Sedan is a great idea, but how they want to go about it is drama for drama’s sake.

If it’s called a Mach 4 only it would be okay. Sounds better as a AWD system though.

I believe you can have so many more possibilities with the Falcon name.

but in general a sedan will do well for them since it would be the only one they have.

I want it to happen. I'm even willing to finally learn how to operate a manual transmission if they offer one with the option. (It's the one thing I think keeps me from being able to call myself a proper/true car enthusiast.)

The pessimist in me however thinks the Mach-4 gets shelved again if the Fathom doesn't turn out to be the "Model T moment" Ford markets it out to be.

Quality aside the car will prob be awesome. But their marketing department when it comes to branding is lazy and contradictory.

Didn't Chevy do this with the SS not that long ago and it flopped big time? Granted they didn't call it the Camaro4 and named it after a trim level so maybe that's why it flopped...IDK. This one would at least have an entry level engine to make it more affordable as the SS was only a v8 and pricey from what I remember. Maybe there's lots of ex-Fusion customers out there pining for a sedan again, who knows.
