Continental EC Sport 02 New Tire Size

Hey everyone, figured I’d make a thread on a new tire size release from Continental for the Extreme Contact Sport 02’s in a 305/35/19. I bought them from Tire Rack a few days ago and will be installing them right away. The only place so far where you can actually buy them is tire rack and I will be adding the link. Continental has them on their website as an available size too. Finally can ditch the Nitto NT555’s for a better tire, and we all know how there aren’t many 305/35/19 options. I will post pictures of how they look on the car as soon as I can.
* Figured I’d update this post: Discount Tire now has the Conti Sport 02’s available in this size as well. I’m assuming other tire shops will begin selling them on their sites or in store as well. *

A couple pictures after the install. Looks great and tires are for sure an upgrade over the NT555’s. Wheels are SVE SP2 staggered 19x10, 19x11’s on 285/35/19’s and of course the new 305/35/19’s. I’ll update later with better pictures

Looks great… any reason you didn’t go for the 325/30/19? When my current Firehawks need to be replaced the 02’s will be my first choice.

I wanted a bit bigger sidewall just cause the roads here in Dallas aren’t necessarily the greatest. So it was just a preference thing for me.

How are these compared to the nt555r2? I've heard they are better for handling/track use but I do more dig racing. Do they hook on a dig or 40 roll?

Literally anything is better than that tire.

nt555r2 scored last by a mile in pretty much every handling test.



I just put them on my car, really not sure they're faster than my outgoing PS4S, and they're definitely worse in anything that isn't hot, bare pavement.

Also when braking hard, the rears that are NT555's consistently try to pass the fronts, which are still PS4S. Yes I know its my fault for having 2 diff tire compounds, but I would have thought a tire that is allegedly grippier, would brake as good or better than a much narrower tire.

I haven’t experienced the r2’s but from what I’ve had and also read anything Michelin or Continental for summer tire will be better. I’ve had the Pilot Super Sports before and they were super grippy, the sport 02’s are just as good too. Also heard the Firestone fire hawks are a decent tire too

Sorry - I know it's an old thread ....

But I am considering those wheels and wanted to ask if you had any issues with them on delivery after inspection...? Any blem or wheel warp issues. I have bought wheels from them before and have had both those issues which makes me hesitant to buy again. Although to be honest they made everything right (after jumping through hoops) it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Pretty much all aftermarket wheels hail from foreign lands but some are better than others. Was going with Velgens as I have them on my ST and they are clean looking, well built, well shipped wheels... However, the price difference is quite a bit more ...?
