Yes. He complained that he can't have his car in track mode and have the safety features active at the same time. I understand what he was saying. He specifically asked:I think you missed the point. He is not complaining about the safety features. He is complaining about the fact that you can't control Magneride to your own preference. The stiffer suspension on the Magneride is only available you choose the track drive mode.
He want's to use stiffer suspension whenever he wants, since Ford gives you the option to make a costum profile and choose different drive modes, different steering wheel modes, different exhaust modes and different suspension modes.
But when choosing a drive mode that is not track mode, you can't choose the track suspension mode. This is just plain stupid.
I'm only explaining that his chosen mode for "driving pleasure" wasn't designed for road use. Had he asked something like "why won't Ford let me adjust my suspension settings independently of my safety features?" we'd be having a completely different conversation. Ford didn't put him in a position to choose between being safe and being unsafe. Ford said, "If you're going to take this to the track, use this mode and the nannies will be put on the back burner so you can have fun." They did not say, "Please use this track focused mode for daily driving even though we've turned off the nannies because we want you to be a danger to yourself and others."Why does Ford puts us in this situation to have to choose between driving pleasure and security features?
As an aside, I lived in Germany for three years as a younger man and drove all over Europe, France included, mostly in a '93 Mazda 323F with suspension that was far from "performance" even by the standards of the time and I never had any issues with traction loss on the highways. The curves aren't steep enough to lose traction if OP is doing the speed limit, or even a fair bit above. It seems more likely that he likes to use the highways as a racetrack, taking the corners at high speeds, which would justify a need for stiffer suspension, but it also increases the risk of breaking lose, hence his concern about not having traction control.
