Looks like it is vented in the back. The B&O system isn't any different between the DH and GT/Ecoboost.

I don't know what my DH sub enclosure looked like. Sold it two days ago. Got a Oxford White GT now.

Thanks AZ Ryan! I saw those vents in the video You posted. I cancelled my poly fill order and saved $20. Either way, I know I’m overthinking it. It’s what I do…lol.

Cucucru’….you have a custom sub box?

Curious why you went from a DH to a GT. a little more streetable?

I've made a couple of them. I sold my DH Premium because I'm a Worry Wart. Scared to scratch it, wreck it. And if someone tries to jack it I pack a P229. Was going to get 20+ S550 so I could Procharge it. But all the cars I seen were modified. Too much to deal with. To make a sub box all you need is the measurements and math. From that you'll get the C.I. for the box. Sealed are easier do deal with, and pound more solid. My friend did the same 18 Fosgate and when it boomed the bolt he put in the speaker would go up past the second story. But for a Mustang smaller enclosures are the best. Fosgate makes a single 12 in a round cylindrical box. You could tie it down in the trunk wedged against the floor and back seat.

There is no vent at the back, it is a sealed enclosure. Pollyfill will not cause overheating, it just mimics a larger enclosure.

Polyfill will make a small difference but not worth worrying about either way.

Thanks again to all for the advice! For sound I guess I’m not going for perfection, just better than stock crap….lol.

Cucuru’, I understand stressing over a perfect car. Or worse, a perfect expensive car….lol. Those first few rock chips can really hurt, and perfect cars seem to be idiot magnets on the road. I had my car only 3 days and had to dive into the shoulder because some brain dead old lady took a turn so wide she was coming straight at me fully in my lane! I was shaken to say the least.

I’m going to keep my sub in the stock enclosure. As cool as a custom sub box is, sometimes I need every bit of trunk space for stuff I bought. There have also been times where folding down the seats was a must for larger items. TBH, in my 06 GT the seats were folded down all the time and I was always stuffing stuff in there. You wouldn’t believe the stuff I used to pack in that car!

BTW: I see where some modify the speaker holes to fit the box, and some have drilled new holes in the box. I’m leaning to drilling new holes in the box, so If I have to replace the new Pioneer, it’s a drop in…plus I get to use the Pioneer trim ring. Mine will be exposed with the custom 4 bar grill.

I went the other way and slotted the holes in the speaker, used the stock trim ring and 4 bar grill. This way i could go back to stock easily. Either way works.

Nice Solution! I like it! I’ll keep that in mind when all the parts come in and I have it all in front of me.

You will probably break the fastening tabs on the grill when removing the trim ring. The grill actually holds the trim ring in. So I used the stock trim ring to hide the speaker screws with a couple pieces of double sided tape. The 4 bar used 4 new screws and hold the trim ring in as well.

Also, look at replacing center front speaker, easy, cheap upgrade, and plug and play speaker on Amazon, Infinity REF-3032CFX Reference 3.5 Inch Two-Way. Both improve sound, but don't make the system great. Worth the money and ease of modification, without replacing amplifier and rewiring system.
